As a white guy that’s mostly English and Dutch descent according to my dad, I can’t imagine any name some unknown person to me could call me that would make me as angry or insulted about it as he seemed to be. He really seemed to have a chip on his shoulder waiting for someone to knock it off so he could get into a fight and blame them for starting it. I’m guessing that and also that it was an alcohol related incident. I did like the fact that he called himself an actor of CNN, at least he was honest about that!

Cuomo didn’t do himself any favors. He just publicly exposed a button that anybody can press to annoy him. From this point forward, he’ll be referred to as Cuomo by any right wing political agitator.
Any of us has a button as you termed it. I’ve had altercations with bullies and to me the only way would be to defend one’s self. That was a deliberate argument started by the nut who went after Cuomo and Cuomo was right in defending himself. No matter what Hannity thinks.

This is the way Chris Cuomo behaves when he’s out and about with his wife and nine year old daughter?!? He had no idea how this other jerk would react to such provocation. Is his ego more important than his family’s safety? And “Fredo” is equivalent to the n-word? Maybe I’m biased. I never could stand the guy. Blech!

I really do not understand how being called “Fredo” is an ethnic slur. Sure, Fredo is Italian in the movie, but it isn’t being Italian that causes him to be held in disdain. Weak…betrays his brother…anyone of any heritage may do those things. Did Chris Cuomo somehow betray someone in his family?
I just don’t get the supposed ethnic aspect of this aspersion.

Standing up to bullies in grade school is far different than picking a fight as an adult. Cuomo escalated the situation and endangered himself physically, legally, and financially. I thought he would be smarter than that.
Frank Sinatra was famous for saying No one calls me a wop and walks away from a fight. I’ve heard other slurs as well, but Fredo? It may be shorthand for ineffectual family millstone, but then so is DJTJ.
For me it’s a call out to one of the finest actors I’ve ever seen, a man who could invest any character with so much humanity that overshadowed the banal concept of winner and loser.
