What DOJ resources are available to deploy in a situation like this? In all seriousness, with a state gun charge, what business does the DOJ have in this at all? I can see federal courts stepping in upon appeal, but even then what can DOJ do?

“Getting Involved” = Bill Barr throwing the entire weight of the DOJ behind the Asshole-Gun-Wavers.
They will file briefs, claiming their 2nd Amendment Rights were “trampled” when their guns were confiscated by the local Sheriffs Dept., and probably even file a “Civil Rights Action” against said Sherriff.
This couple of raging assholes are the PERFECT Poster Children for Trump’s re-election campaign; Aggrieved Wealthy Older White People being TERRORIZED by BLM and ANTIFA!!! who were there to Burn and Pillage (and Rape! don’t forget Rape!) simply because they HATE WHITE PEOPLE.

I suppose they could try some sort of 9-rail bankshot of a lawsuit in federal court that tries to interfere with the state charges, but I can’t imagine what such a case would look like or how it would have any chance of succeeding. Federal courts do not get involved in state court prosecutions until the federal habeas corpus stage of things, which is years down the road and incredibly deferential to the state court convictions.

Huh…not sure why you’d be a pedantic boor over this… (oh lawyer) as an expert in fire arms, it is highly probable both could occur as you should know, recoil, generally applies more to the second round which I doubt she’d manage with a broken nose and blown up brain bucket from dear hubby scattered around.
Her trigger finger is three joints deep, meaning she’s gonna yank the barrel pretty badly each and every time. The limp wrist isn’t exactly helping either.
