Groups Sue To Block Census Citizenship Data Efforts | Talking Points Memo

In case you haven’t read my previous comments to which you were responding: “There is certainly nothing in the Constitution that prevents the bureau from collecting data on race, gender, religion, political affiliation, you name it. Why would citizenship be any different?”

latinX?
Do you have to be so bloody Anglophone centric and adopt this barbarism. Latin languages have grammatical gender. If you don’t want to signal Gender due to Monolingual Americacentric Anglophonism and cultural imperialism, just say Latins for a non-grammatical gender.

LatinX is ugly and stupid.

Let’s note that the lawsuit referenced in the article is not about the Census bureau collecting citizenship data via the decennial census, but rather that the Census bureau intends to construct parallel citizenship data from other sources and distribute that data alongside the census results, which among other things grants that parallel data the legitimacy of the real census data.

Which is why politics is going to finish off multicellular life on Earth…except for the 0.1% who live safely in climate controlled bunkers. Today’s politics suck and are deadly. Why is this so hard to understand?

It’s monolingual Anglo-cultural imperialism combined with Lefty-Anglo cultural blindness and over-correction - 'cause English doesn’t have obviously signalled grammatical gender, unlike Romance / Latin languages.

LatinX is pure ugliness - cultural imperialism since it’s masking and usurping the actual Romance language forms, inserting an ugly Anglo-American marker in there as self-congrats to its woke self without actual attention to the actual culture-language of Latins.

Knee-jerk myopic Anglo-centric wokeness for Anglo-centric wokeness sake.

This is a new coinage - a neologism - this headline was the first time I had ever heard of it, and I too thought WTF?

But the term does have an informative Wikipedia page:

First appeared in 2004, and gained currency on universities five years ago. Older generations reject it, but the youngest seem more accepting.

Lawmakers in California have been sufficiently alarmed at the maladministration’s effort to scare POC away from a census taker they’ve done this

California has appropriated nearly $200 million to bolster outreach efforts in the state, and ensure that undocumented immigrants participate in the census.

Well yes, Anglo-cultural American uni kids with about zero awareness of Latin languages and excessive wokeness.

Straight out cultural imperialism.

It certainly may not be in the Constitution that prevents a religious question to appear on the bureau’s surveys. Have you ever thought perhaps a bill became law to PROHIBIT such probing? Remember we have other laws and regulations that governs our CIVILITY.

Um, first clause of the first amendment?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

You got me. I have never considered the possibility of statutory law.

Noted. However religion wasn’t the only factor included in the list, which were omitted in the Constitution.
