Greg Bovino Emerges as Trump’s Man For Conjuring Up a Blue-City Insurrection

That coat makes me think of Stalin. These people are so bizarre.

to claim that the federal government is facing a kind of rebellion and that it is struggling to uphold the rule of law

Donald Trump is struggling to uphold the rule of law.

Except he’s not. He’s struggling to keep power, so his performers like Bovino can act with abandon knowing he will pardon any crime they commit.

It’s rule of, by and for the lawless.

Note that he’s tempered the cited remarks made to Chicago NPR affiliate WBEZ. Per CNN:

Bovino told CNN Tuesday his remarks to WBEZ were mischaracterized before expanding on what factors officers may consider.

“Perhaps you look panicked when you see a border patrol agent,” he said. “Perhaps you look scared. Perhaps your demeanor changes. Perhaps you’re gripping the steering wheel so tightly that I can see the whites of your knuckles. There’s a myriad of factors that we that we would look at to develop articulable facts for reasonable suspicion.”

In other words, then, he’s taking into account the color of knuckle skin, and pursuing what he perceives to be White. And sure, that can’t possibly be racial profiling. As erstwhile Tribune columnist Eric Zorn writes:

“The alleged powers of perception of the occupying force of ICE agents is impressive! Not only can they detect a look of panic on a person’s face — something you or I might register when coming upon an armed person in military garb — they can detect color changes in the knuckles of passing motorists.

“So it’s not the brown skin on their faces that creates “reasonable suspicion” that they are undocumented immigrants; it’s the incremental whitening of their knuckles.”

Don’t deport until you see the whites of their knuckles (subscription required). I’d add only that the knuckles of children riding their bikes to school may be more easily visible than those of motorists, and perhaps this is what Mr. Bovino has in mind.

He already has gotten at least one man murdered.

During the incident nearly two weeks ago, ICE agents were attempting to pull over and arrest an undocumented immigrant when they say the man drove away, hitting and dragging an ICE agent and seriously injuring the officer - who then fired a fatal gunshot. But videos obtained Tuesday by the NBC Chicago investigative team don’t support that version of events.

The fatal incident happened on Sept. 12 on a main street in west suburban Franklin Park, during what has been described as a typical immigration operation. Since then, on numerous occasions, top homeland security officials have insisted the ICE officer who shot and killed motorist Silvero Villegas-Gonzalez had feared for his life; had been hit by the suspect’s car, dragged and seriously hurt with multiple injuries. Now though, newly obtained police bodycam videos reveal the ICE officer had a scraped-up knee and described his injuries as “nothing major.”

Maybe if they turn the murders up little by a little, no one will notice. Republicans will then blame the Democrats, saying why didn’t you say something when the murders started. Instead of now when we have multiple murders per day by the United States border patrol.

If the Republicans lose a House majority in the November 2026 election, what’s to stop Johnson and the current GOP House leadership (backed by the Trump administration, of course) from declaring invalid the election of a sufficient number of Democratic candidate3s and simply refusing to allow the current House to continue holding office past January 3, 2027? In other words, Johnson would simply declare himself and “his” GOP House to be in continuous existence.

Of course, such a thing has never happened before. But now we’re in the Age of Trumpery, and who knows what musty, old-fashioned are subject to revision?

(I’d add that in such a scenario, the whole US government becomes illegitimate and we’re back in John Locke’s State of Nature.)

Why are the members of the border control like him, so far from the actual border?
Regardless what it is called, the Border Control or the US Army, where is the outcry about the violation of the 3rd and 4th Amendments?

He is dressed for the camera. Reading about him, he reeks of self promotion.

During a trial over whether the move was legal, an army major general testified that Bovino had initially requested 51 military vehicles for a sweep through Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park. When the officer questioned that plan, Bovino purportedly replied by asking whether he had sufficient “loyalty” to his country.

Oh yeah, he has made it to the big time. I am surprised he didn’t request a carefully scheduled air strike to ensure the cameras were rolling. Napalm no less.

“They’re being given these directions, and if they don’t follow these directions, their career is going to be short-circuited,” he said.

Sometimes you have to do the right thing and careers suffer. That is called being a hero.

I am at the point now where IF they start shooting innocents in my area (not currently much ICE activity here) I will be joining the antifa militia.

I tell you boss, that city is a crack head, hell of immigrant gang terrorism. Hell they have dogs that don’t hunt and no one is doing anything about it! They just lead them around the streets and pick up their waste in little bags. Ya gotta believe me, we have lost Portland. The only thing left is let Pete raze it to the ground!

Of course they (GOP HOuse leaders/Trump regime) have no authority to do anything of the sort–but what’s to stop them from claiming such authority? By 2026, Trump is likely to have issued all kinds of crazy executive orders about how the election is supposed to be conducted, which will give him plenty of opportunities to claim that the Dems won by “breaking '[his] rules,” and therefore invalidating their election.

Are we ready to meet such fire with fire?
