Which is funny, because it seems like the white Christian evangelicals really DO yearn for persecution…like they’re on a neverending quest for martyrdom that, once achieved, will somehow prove them more “Christ-like” themselves, which is of course what requires them to believe that Jesus was white, because they’d never want to be like a brown guy. Of course, that just highlights the cognitive dissonance. Jesus was a brown dude, and you can tell because no white guy would’ve gotten THAT treatment.
