I can’t tell how much of Greene’s schtick is grift and how much of it is legitimate and dangerous mental illness, but there’s a hefty helping of bot

I was looking at her bio, and as much as Rep Greene comes across as trailer trash, her father had a construction business in my town and she went to a high school in a fairly well off area (although at the time rabidly lily white) and then to the U of Georgia. The business still exists and is run by her husband (homepage taken down, and they won’t probably answer the listed phone either ). I haven’t figured out how did she end up being a basket in NW Georgia.

Given the GOP love for racists like Steve “I am David Dukes without the baggage” Scalise and the racist birther lie and liars, is Greene being treated differently by the GOP because she is a woman?

This seems to be a defining moment for McCarthy as Minority Leader. Either he takes charge of his caucus, for once, or allows the fringe elements to run roughshod over him. If he’s smart, he’ll pull her committee assignments before the Democrats do, and he should back Liz Cheney because she’s part of his leadership team. Which, of course, means he probably won’t.
