A Texas woman charged in connection with last month’s siege at the U.S. Capitol has asked to be allowed to travel to Mexico for a “weekend retreat” – and the federal judge assigned to the case approved the request, court papers show.
Attorneys for Jenny Louise Cudd asked a U.S. magistrate judge on Monday if she could travel to Riviera Maya, Mexico, from Feb. 18 to Feb 21 because she “planned and prepaid for a weekend retreat with her employees” before the alleged crimes, court papers show.
Now don’t start ruling things out. We’re playing to win here.

If a large war chest was necessary for success, the Democrats would have swept all the competitive senate races in the 2020 election (where they uniformly outraised and outspent their Republican opponents).
As long as Greene and Co can raise the minimum they need to run basic campaigns from MyPillow-level Qnuts, I believe they do stand a chance of winning in conjunction with additional state-level GOP gerrymandering and voter suppression.

Anyone who has ever taught school (any school) has seen people like Greene in abundance. The difference is that McCarthy is in a grade a couple of steps below Greene.

Initial reports were that she’d been granted permission, updates pointed out that her lawyer had submitted a draft order asking for permission, but the judge had not signed it. Here’s a WaPo story about that:
