Graham Pushes For Change In Senate Rules To Ensure Quick Impeachment Trial

I posted it in another thread but it really illustrates how mentally impaired he is. It is going to get worse. These sorts of tweets should make it easier for GOP Senators to impeach him and install Pence.

And I am going to add, what if Obama tweeted this out? The GOP would be outraged to the point of rending their garments.

Graham added: “the entire Senate impeachment trial will be a joke. There will be no witnesses. Republicans don’t care about the evidence. We’d acquit Trump if he were a war criminal. So it needs to be over with.”

A little bummed he isn’t prioritizing Giuliani’s testimony today. But he’s got a lot going on at the moment.

My understanding is the Senate can’t do anything until the articles are delivered.

Graham can huff and puff all he wants, but he can’t blow Nancy’s house down.

Graham is nervous about the ramifications of Trump’s drone killing. Something big and bad could happen and happen soon, which, if really bad, might actually affect the Senate vote.

Graham might wind up in jail.

That has some interesting possibilities.

Exactly. All legislation (which is what the impeachment articles are) must originate in the House.

“We’ve got yet another disastrous war to wage,” he explained. “Our Commander in Chief and primary strategist, Cadet Toadglans mit Bone Spurs, can’t afford to be distracted. It would be like talking while he’s putting. Very rude.”

Fun Fact: The days the Belle of the Bawl has seen combat (war) is still zero. In fact, he barely served in the Air Force Reserves.

Yeah I have some ideas about Miss Lindsey’s “service.”

Predicting one’s own likely disproportionate response is admitting you are not fit to be in charge of anything.

In a job interview: “Weaknesses…Hmmm… Well, sometimes, for no consistent reason, I just snap, and kill and kill and kill in an unstoppable blackout rage.”

Pelosi’s not holding back anything. Impeachment was voted on, and then there were a few days before Congress went on vacation for 3 weeks. She really wanted to give MoscowMitch time to get his shit together. Think they’re due back on Tuesday. Cool your jets Lindsey or are you trying to take matters into your own hands?

He would have to change, adapt, if you will. They don’t allow neon flex straws in jail.

“The sooner this trial is over, the better for the American people,” said Graham, who told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo that he wanted the trial done by the end of January.

The sooner you are voted out of the senate, the better for the American people.

There is no question as to what kind of kompromat they have. I would just like to know where the body is buried.

That is a logical conclusion to draw, that there cannot be a trial until the case is properly presented, but the Constitution does not lay out the procedure other than stating that the House has the sole power of impeachment, which it has exercised, and the Senate has the sole power to try all impeachments. The Constitution explicitly states that each House may determine the rules of its proceedings, so the Senate has the sole power to determine how the trial is to be conducted.

The current rules lay out the procedure - (II) the House managers of an impeachment shall be introduced at the bar of the Senate and shall signify that they are ready to exhibit articles of impeachment, and (III) upon such articles being presented the Senate shall proceed to the consideration of such articles. Graham is proposing that the Senate simply change Rules II & III, which it can do by majority vote, and proceed with its mock trial. CJ Roberts would not have any role in that process, he only comes into play when he is summoned by McConnell to preside over the trial.

I’m telling you guys, he killed Soleimani IN ORDER to INCITE the Iranians to terrorist act(s).

He called down terrorism on American interests ON PURPOSE to get his war on.

He’s already responded disproportionately once, and is now threatening WWE-style, to do it again. I long to have sober-minded, thoughtful, intelligent, knowledgeable people back in power again.

I humbly submit that Tom Nichols is one of those folks you have to follow in order to not fall into your own sub-ecosystem of groupthink. Rick Wilson is another. Susan Hennessey and Ben Wittes are others.

(there’s no implied grouping here, merely that none of these folks are super-online Democratic partisans)

(and they may even be wrong frequently! But you should listen to their arguments)

"Impeachment! Fiddle-dee-dee!

Impeachment! Impeachment! Impeachment!

If I hear one more word about impeachment I’ll run in the house and slam the door!

And I will burst into tears and stamp my dainty little feet"

Go suck an egg, Linz.

Graham. An out and out traitor to our Nation. I can’t believe this lawless POS is a U.S. Senator. He’s trying to summarily dismiss extremely serious charges of wrongdoing against Trump. Man, do both of them need to be thrown out of Government.
