Entangled in an impeachment process that will forever stain his legacy, President Donald Trump has been sending unhinged screeds, firing off equally unhinged tweets in all-caps with multiple exclamation points, mocking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) teeth and attacking people’s deceased spouses.
I think you’d have better luck asking a dog to stay while holding a juicy steak inches away.
Trump doesn’t believe in the Constitution, as it limits his powers as president and he wants absolute power to do anything he wants at any time. So it’s no surprise he’s not respecting the process, or laying low…he’s going to yell and scream like a five year old whose parents wouldn’t give him candy. And, he’s going to insult everyone against him, and continue to lie and cheat in the 2020 election.
The worst part of all is that Republicans will just let him get away with it…none of this is surprising from Trump, but it’s a real indictment of the patriotism of the Republican party, which has so easily switched to pursuing absolute power in the past couple decades (and especially after Obama was elected). Trump will get off, no matter what Moscow Mitch has to do to make it happen…after that, it’s up to the voters to keep the Republic, because the Republicans have surely shown they have no interest in it anymore.

Thanks for posting that. CT is the magazine of establishment evangelism - this is a BFD. If people wondered whether impeachment without removal is worth it, I don’t think CT comes out against Trump without impeachment.
Once the dam breaks, we’ll find quite a few of these people and organizations who will claim they opposed Trump’s abuses and have always done so. I won’t believe a word of it and neither should anyone else.
