Governors Call Out Trump | Talking Points Memo

Sure wish Jay would have gotten more traction. VP pick? Or too West Coast?

Like just about all of Trump and the GOP’s “outrages” and “causes”, this is a made-up non-crisis manufactured or vastly inflated to rile up his idiot racist base and distract from real issues, in this instance how he’s screwed up the response to the pandemic and his sheer incompetence and indifference to it. They’re all bullshit, going back to Nixon if not McCarthy. It’s what the GOP does.

Whether it’s communists, black militants, draft dodgers, welfare queens, soft on crime liberals, soft on terrorism liberals, Obama being a Kenyan-born Muslim, Hillary ordering the murder of Vince Foster and running a child sex ring, they’ve been pulling this stunt forever. It riles up the base and confuses and turns off the center and makes them distrust politics entirely and not vote, and distracts from actual issues, which is the purpose. It’s so obvious.

Sure, there’s always some hardcore nutjob group that really goes for this stuff, but it’s usually fairly small. What they do is latch onto this group and astroturf it with bused-in fake or brainwashed idiots to make it seem much larger than it is. It serves its purposes and then is discarded as the next “major controversy” is built up and exploited. This “pump and dump” strategy is one of the GOP’s core strategies, and for good reason, because it works, and because it has nothing substantial to run on.

And now it’s this fake movement to open up Murca so FreeDUMB!-loving morons can give each other the virus, which, as tempting as that is, would merely endanger others and overburden local hospitals and first responders and endanger them too. Once this has played out, they’ll find something else, like how the stimulus bill is being exploited by Dem-aligned cheats or how illegal Latinos brought the virus here from China on far-left space ships or something.

Pelosi is right that this is basically a distraction, but it’s also an opportunity to further discredit Trump and make it clear how incompetent he is and how he’s politicizing the pandemic. I don’t understand why Dems are tearing into him. Do they think it’s too soon, that it would look political? Nonsense. It’s substantive, because he clearly IS doing a terrible job of it and it’s their job to criticize him over it. If that helps them politically, then that’s a side benefit. He can’t be allowed to get away with this.

Impeachment 2.0 NOW!

For 4 days now these bullshit sparsely attended astroturfed ‘protest’ have been used in opening news stories on the major nightly news broadcast to show ‘opposition’ to the stay at home orders. The right-wing created a ‘false balance’ to health concerns and handed it to the MSM that ate it up.

I would hope no medical professionals would try to hide it either. You are going to be found out, and trust me on this, you do not want to be a doctor, nurse, a hospital or nursing home adminstator and have this information come out about YOU. Your career would be rightfully over.

Oh, I should have said that. Yes.

As these add up, it will make Trump ever more desperate and unhinged. Even in a strong economy, there are a number of companies that are hanging on by a thread and the list will get longer every week.

I did not have that one as first on my bingo card…thought for sure it would be Kohl’s

I tend to think most of them are too busy right now to fritter away resources in a pissing match with an idiot.

But, some of them might just want to lay low so they get whatever scraps of medical equipment they can beg from Jared’s private stash without having it get pirated by trump’s thugs. So, choosing practicality and saving lives over taking an ideological stand?

These governors are not going to waste time in a twitter war with the moron. Why bother?

They’re already forming coalitions to get the job done where trump’s band of morons cannot. They have a job to do and at this point trump’s idiocy is just shit on the soles of their shoes.

Inciting rebellion by calling your supporters to take up arms to liberate certain states is damned close to treason donald.
Article 3, Section 3: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”
Be careful donald because you are damned close to this definition.

Personal bankruptcies will see a surge here in Texas on May 4-5. Foreclosures resume on 5/5.

Governor Hogan is the chair of the governors’ association, and Cuomo is the vice chair. I am sure a majority of the governors, both R and D, will join together and call out the Covidiot for this stupid stupid behavior.

Will turn out to be more like the drunk, he kills everyone else but himself when he gets behind the wheel.

Absolutely right.

Like those idiots who flouted the order to not hold in-person religious services and ended up dying because of it.

Speaking of which anyone heard a peep (or cough) out of Ammon Bundy after his Easter potluck?

Inslee is saying that Trump is a schizophrenic madman who is endangering Americans with his divisive lunacy. To have a governor of one of our states say this

“To have an American president to encourage people to violate the law, I can’t remember any time during my time in America where we have seen such a thing,” Inslee said.

about a President of the United States is also unprecedented.

If there was an ounce of patriotism in the GOP leadership they would confront that sick, toxic piece of human waste and tell him to resign. I mean, this is plainly impeachable conduct during a national crisis that he created. But his party is as debased as Trump is.

Inslee’s great. I hope he gets tapped to be the Climate Change Czar after the new administration comes in in January.
