Gorsuch’s Shameful Silence

I wonder how Grok 3.5 is going to suggest how we deal with libraries and every form of publishing information?

So there’s “missing information” in “the entire corpus of human knowledge.” Grok, define “entire.”

“to rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge”

Consistent with what the 1% want you to believe.

I hope they remember to include the chapter You Can’t Live On Mars.

“rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge, adding missing information and deleting errors”

Lucky is the man who owns and controls the Memory Hole. Fortunately, that ain’t Elon.

Yet.

Good Lord. We’re going to have an AI that unironically tell us, “We report, you decide”.

I suspect programming an AI with an ideological bias is not going to be the big winner Elon thinks it is. In fact, it’s going to be laughed at by all the other intelligent Artificial Intelligence operating systems, but I suppose MAGAs need their own stupid version of an AI to get through life.

Hardly:
" People like you are still living in what we call the reality-based community. You believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality. That’s not the way the world really works anymore. We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality."

According to Karl Rove and the Republican elite since Bush the Lesser, “reality” can be created by doing stuff. Twenty-five years up future, it’s even easier: reality can be created by changing how history and the present are documented.

I guess one way or another future years will see hundreds of rural hospitals close. This might result in a much diminished quality of life for rural America. Shorter lifespans, untreated illnesses and diseases. Aside from all that rural people are likely going to see their vaccine participation rates plummet, so more illness and disease. Rural people in large majorities vote for Donald Trump, so all the above seems an appropriate outcome.

I heard recently, might have been on NPR, that there is an effort to create the digital archive version of “low background steel,” which is steel manufactured before 1945 with very low background radiation pre-atom bomb testing. It’s used for sensitive medical and other equipment.

The idea is to create a file of both text and image content created before the development of AI, a resource where we can be sure it’s 100% human-created content with no AI “slop” pollution. This could be used for training AI so it doesn’t get caught in self-referential loops, or just a historical archive against misinformation.

Because before long, most of what we access for information is going to be polluted with AI slop. There are no guardrails, things are moving too fast. That post by Musk is a prime example. What do you want to bet that his Grok 3.5 that “rewrites the entire corpus of human knowledge, adding missing information and deleting errors” will have no mention of the Holocaust? Or Harriet Tubman?

When will teaching about the Constitution go the way of other issues that make MAGA uncomfortable and must be hidden away. Three co-equal branches of government and not a Supreme Leader? The President must abide by the Judicial or Legislative branches and follow the rulings and law. No, this can’t be possible.

And just like that, it will be done.

Well, apparently the First Felon is under the impression that the Declaration of Independence arose out of the Civil War. So our history books will look like a product of the Onion, or maybe Classic Mad. Which are funniest if you know the context.

Nearly everything Trump says is a tell. A window into something he’s been told, or heard, via someone in the know (allegedly). His recent tarmac comment to the press has me thinking his intel agencies feel there are plausible, active plots to assassinate him, by a foreign power. A gaggle of people in a crowd with him don’t die because a sniper lurks. It’s a bomb or missile that intel fears I’d bet.

“You’re even in danger talking to me right now! Do you know that you are in danger talking to me right now? So, I should probably get out of here. But you guys are actually in danger. Can you believe it?”

I think him uttering “Can you believe it?” has a ring to it where he’s saying it to himself as much as he is to those with him. He’s been told, recently, current events might trigger an attempt on his life.
