GOP Senators Say The Real Problem With Trump Is His Bad Staff

A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo.

Seven years into the Trump era, and we’re still getting this kind of nonsense from sitting U.S. senators: Whose fault was it that Trump had dinner with Nick Fuentes and Kanye West? Certainly not Trump’s! It was poor staffing!

Kanye and His Antisemitic Friends Storm Off Live Right-Wing Podcast (yahoo.com)

Kanye West was joined by Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and white supremacist Milo Yiannopoulos on Monday’s episode of the Timcast IRL podcast. While speaking with Tim Pool, the host of the YouTube channel with 1.4 million subscribers with a largely right-wing audience, West dove into a tirade over the recent media backlash surrounding his anti-semitic comments.

“I thought I was more Malcolm X, but I found out I’m more MLK. As I’m getting hosed down every day by the press and financially, I’m just standing there,” said West during the live recording. “When I found out they were trying to put me in jail, it was like a dog was biting my arm, and I almost shed a tear. Almost. But I still walked in stride through it.”

Left out of the blurb about Cochise County.

If votes from this Republican stronghold somehow went uncounted, it could flip two races to Democrats: the contest for state superintendent and a congressional race in which Republican Juan Ciscomani already has been projected as the winner by CNN and other outlets.

“There is nothing to suggest that Justice Alito’s actions violated ethics standards,” Ethan Torrey wrote.

Well, ethan, there’s nothing to suggest that alito and his ilk are even familiar with the concept of ethics standards.

Excuses, excuses in every aspect of his entire life Trump’s enablers have had a steady supply of excuses to rationalize or normalize his behavior. Someone inevitably get tossed under the bus.

It’s like a mass shooting, it’s the same script over and over again and each time the media acts like it never happened before. I wonder who gets to wear the (Star Trek) red shirt this time.

There needs to be some penalty or repercussion that really hurts these nincompoops that insist on withholding certification. Invalidating their ballots entirely, giving the election to Dems, seems like a reasonable and practical solution to ensure no one ever tries this again.

Let ‘em cry.

So trump wants to “install” Kari Lake eh?
Doesn’t matter what the voters said, huh, donald?
My advice to you, trump, is stay in Florida and deal with yer own problems… we don’t need you.
And Jack Smith will be along shortly with a fist full of indictments for you to swallow followed by some fed cops to arrest yer fat ass
Perp walk time!

OT: I learned, yesterday, that Randy Credico, erstwhile “friend” of Roger Stone, posted this on twitter four years ago, yesterday, and then deleted it shortly after. I though it was interesting. Was I the only one who didn’t know about this?

Totally in line with the dictatorial authoritarianism spouted by the Right.

Someone oughta be publicly asking if this is the country we want, where elections are invalidated and the will of the voters counts for nothing.
