Can’t anyone make James Carville go away? And can he take Andy with him too? They totally distracted me from my intended response to Lisa Murkowski in which I request that someone explain to her that the job for which she gets paid $174K plus killer benefits requires that she stand up expressly in the face of threats. Threats that seem to be coming from the party of which she was a part for many years.

As the 90-Day Wonder continues the planned destruction of everything good the United States stands for, we mourn the loss. On a personal note, I find it beneficial to take breaks from the daily insults to decency and burn up some of the anxiety with walks and moderate exercise.

Great words that highlighted the free speech movement. He ended up working in a book store. Trivia note, those lines were used in the Battlestar Gallactica series. The series from the 2000s, not the trash from the 1970s.

I can barely read X today (even more barely than normal). It is flooded by MAGA Congress blasting him for meeting the MS-13 terrorist rather than the Trump’s grieving mom performance.

The one group that cites fear of reprisal for their own inaction in word and deed against Donald Trump is Republicans.
But in truth, unless this MAGA administration is opposed, it does not get easier from here, at all, even for the obsequious.
Let me refer to the Josh Marshall editorial, the bold emphasis is mine:
This is the point that many Republican have failed to understand, the level of arbitrariness to tyranny, autocracy, or that of kings, whatever you want to call it. Sometimes people call it chaos, but it is arbitrary, often untethered from any reality.
Anyone, literally anyone, could be targeted at any time, and you will never make them happy enough to evade eventual suffering at their hands. The wives of kings would scheme against him, poison the king (if she could), because they knew he was the person most dangerous to her. They fully understood this point.

Can’t remember her name. Her daughter was raped and murdered by an “illegal”. Was recently found guilty and is being punished.

Worth noting this was not a confidential conversation. Was the Salvadoran government rep present throughout? Gratified and relieved Abrego Garcia appears safe and unharmed, but he was not free to describe his experience.
Edited to add: The US is deliberately sending detainees, supposedly including US citizens at some point, to a facility that would not be permitted within the US because conditions are cruel and unusual punishment.

Adding this, though: I could easily be in error, but I very much doubt that W made that choice, since I suspect W was chosen by the behind-the-scenes right wing powers because he could be persuaded to leave all such final choices to others.
I would guess that W was firmly steered to Roberts, since Roberts had long been known to be – and long been fostered as – a diehard but stealthy member of the We Want Right-Wing Authoritarians in Charge of This White Christian Nation Club or – to use the intentionally misleading club code name – the Backers of the Unitary Executive Theory who pretend they’re just benign judicial types.
