GOP Candidates Find Creative New Ways to Distance Themselves From Trump

Pay No Attention to That Man Inside the White House Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds, the Miami Herald noticed yesterday, scrubbed his campaign website of almost any mention of Trump’s name. He is, of course, not the first. Mike Beltran, running in Florida for a U.S. House seat, changed his website so that rather than…

They can run but they can’t hide! Here in Georgia Jon Ossoff has a great campaign ad using Mike Collins record and own words.

Good to know the Nazi movement has been revitalized. I’m especially glad that we fought a war over it some time ago. I guess that’s water under the bridge. 86 47

I don’t believe in the concept of Hell, but hope I’m wrong in Stephen Miller’s case.

You can tell they are distancing themselves from TRUMP by the fact that the still vote almost entirely in lockstep for EVERYTHING TRUMP wants.

Now their son tries to stay out of sight in Cameroon, a very dangerous country to which the U.S. pays cash to accept deportees who have no relationship to it.

Evangelicals love Trump. Now those are some fine churches.

Are we at war?

A nit, and no, I did not watch Trump’s UN address in full, but did Trump use the word ‘war’ at any point while he was ruminating about ‘annihilating’ Iran and sending it to ‘hell’?

They are starting to react to this:

Among Republicans and Republican leaners, net approval of the president fell from +54 to +43 (71% approve, 27% disapprove), an 11-point drop outside the confidence interval in movement across previous months in the tracker.

He did, yes. I did a quick search on the transcript where almost all the references to “war” were about Gaza or Ukraine, but he did say it just one time with reference to Iran:

“Now, we must be equally united in maintaining pressure. The United States Navy has recently escorted more than 1 billion barrels of oil out of the Strait of Hormuz, and more oil is flowing than at any point since the start of the war.”

The best cartoon I’ve seen in a while on the current predicament in the U.S.

Tom Tiffany is a political cross dresser. He is immoral.

As I have said before, all of the D candidates have to smear their opponents with the Dotard’s record, without mercy.

Concerned Susan did not deny that the allegations of her corruption were true. Brow furrowing detected. I want her to lose so badly. She is awful.

He did use it for the operation that kidnapped Maduro and, so, he justified looting Venezuela’s natural resources:

Is it a “smear” if it’s true?

No attribution or acceptance of responsibility from Dear Leader here.
Is his office and party still pressing ahead with tales of how Iran started the war in the Persian Gulf?

Donald Trump and Republicans are trying to smear Democrats as communists.

But here the GOP President is starting an official state-sponsored TV and doing a performative act at the UN like the Nikita Krushchev shoe banging incident.

Most of you might have to look up that one, it is from 1960 (oh my that dates me).

Here you go, I looked it up so you don’t have to.

One of Tiffany’s first ads targeting David Crowley was about data centers, misrepresenting (of course) his position on them entirely. Within a week, Crowley had an ad out with all of Tiffany’s support for them - and linking that to TFG.

I have noticed that the majority of political ads for November do not mention Democrat or Republican at all. One may hint at it with the outline of Wisconsin being red or blue, but most don’t even have that.

Imagine a commercial where the candidate is standing on the bank of a stream, fishing. On his hip he is definitely demonstrating Wisconsin’s Open Carry law.

When I saw the holstered gun, I had to double-check his party affiliation, because that sure seemed to be a nod to the 2d Amendment.

Nope, he’s a Democrat. Mitchell Berman, an ER nurse, union member and gunning for Brian Steil.

The 30-second ad is part of a six-figure ad buy across streaming, digital, and television throughout WI-01, a district that will be key to control of the House majority this November. Recent polling shows the race for the First Congressional District in a dead heat, with Berman trailing incumbent Republican Steil by only one point.

Brian Steil has already had to pull and retool his first ads - talked all about how he helped Wisconsin seniors by “no income tax on Social Security” - which was false to begin with for the rest of the country = because Wisconsin already has in place that Social Security is literally free from Wisconsin income tax, and has been for awhile.

Now he says he’s “protecting Social Security” - which is Tiffany’s line too. Needless to say, it’s being pointed out by everyone - including PAC commercials - that when they had the chance to support it by raising the income cap, they voted against it.

But then again, they hardly ever vote. Hell, they’re hardly ever in session.

Sure, but they are trying to keep you from knowing that.
