Toxic waste.
Giuliani Time: Trump Taps Rudy To Lead Legal Challenges That Are Going Nowhere | Talking Points Memo
The ultimate “be careful what you wish for” karma…
I’m not blind, but I love audiobooks. Though, it depends on the reader.
To Kill a Mockingbird read by Sissy Spacek is absolutely amazing!
I tried to read Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime, but I struggled with so many words and names, because I like to sound out words that are new to me. I especially struggled with the words that contained the “!” (the clicking sound). I decided to listen to the audiobook read by Trevor himself. It was wonderful too!
Right. I was writing about Braille 15 years ago and someone from the Texas School of the Blind told me the same. But he said that kids who read Braille two-handed (which blows my mind) read 140 or more words per minute.
This quest to win the election in the courts is not something that depends, even a little bit, on either the technical legal savvy or the overall intelligence of the person directing it. SCOTUS will either award Trump a second term, or it won’t, depending entirely on what it finds expedient, and not at all on the force of legal arguments presented to it over that question.
It’s really hard to believe in good republicans. I don’t know how so many do it.
As I noted before, the GA Special Election looms large right now. If we can claim those seats, we can reduce McConnell to a spectator.
The problem–as in most rural and/or southern environs–is this:
(1) Do we have a voter pool larger than unreachable Trump Tribalists?
(2) Can we grow AND inspire the former to outvote the latter?
The knotty problem of the utility of the emotions which Tribalists can generate at will presents itself often in head-to-head GOP-Dem battles.
Because it requires us to substitute other motivators to vote, while hate fuels the other side.
I wish simply being frank and saying the truth would do the trick:
“If Ossoff and Watnock win, our country will be immeasurably better off and many lives will be saved.”
Stacey Abrams, being a PRO, will outdo that and my prayers are with her.
They’re pretty clearly not touching it now. Absolutely nothing of substance has been identified in any of the lawsuits that would justify them tossing out enough ballots to swing even one State, let alone the three minimum that would be needed to get Trump back in office.
Everyone can chill, this isn’t a few hundred votes in Florida.
Last exit to Brooklyn?
Tried one or two, when it was a new thing.
I really did not enjoy the experience. Much too linear and inexorable for me. I had to stop every twenty seconds to think about what was said, or to connect it to other things.
If you find out what he bought, please promise to not tell me.
Regarding (1) of my post above, an individual whom I respect has stated that the answer to that question was “yes”.
When I read that answer, I wept.
Because there was a chance that McConnell would be in a position in which he could not kill people.
Weaponizing COVID-19 ? Classy !
Yes, it is possible to fashion one or two large cases that, if surfacing in the Supreme Court, could be used to commit a certain amount of mayhem. Not easy, and may not work at all, but still at least theoretically possible.
And yet, I’d worry more if someone other than Rudy Giuliani were leading this campaign.
Yeah kids really do that. But if you lose your sight as an adult, your chances of being able to read braille are pretty slim. Your fingers are too tough by then. It’s phenomenal what kids can do though.
I wasn’t disputing you over the computerized braille these days, just telling my story. I loved learning it and it’s hard as hell to learn to read it by sight because it’s letter for letter until you get to the shortcuts that keep the pages from being too heavy to carry around. They are complicated.
Amazing to me that Louis Braille was a blind16 year old in 18th century France when he invented braille. It’s so brilliant.
Based on what. You need some actual evidence of widespread fraud or problems encompassing enough votes to actually swing the election.
Even Florida 2000 just stopped a recount, after Bush had already won the initial count.
There’s not even that sort of argument to play this time around.
Five or six of the justices may be entirely unhinged, but even they’re not going out on that limb unless someone comes up with a lot more than they have to date.
And apparently wood.
And we gave him such shit for looking for that wood in his pants.
hahahahahahahahahahahaha
We’re saying the same thing there.
