Absolutely. They’ve collectively decided that they can’t win elections unless they rig them so badly that they can’t lose. Enough! For the future of democracy, Dems must pass the voting rights bill. Democracy depends on free and fair elections and it thrives when there is debate and a healthy exchange of ideas. We can’t have that until the GOP is forced to compete for votes again.

Among the types of allegations that can be brought against county election officials are those that question their competence in implementing “administration of elections” and “voter registration.” That latter reference has voter advocates concerned that the takeover provisions could be pointed at counties that refuse to go along with far-reaching voter purge campaigns pushed by Republican-aligned groups.
If this (and other such laws) can’t be stopped, then I hope Democrats are prepared to raise allegations for all Trump majority counties in the state.
As we saw pre-2020, the GOP was generally pro-absentee voting until it looked like it would help Democrats. If the Democrats can start getting Trump county election officials or Republican voters kicked off voter lists under these rules, you can bet the GOP will have an immediate about-face.

Georgia…where they normalize NOT following the law, NOT praising people who follow it and BY GOD AND BY TRUMP they want to make sure that the world knows only white racist Republicans will run the state and be allowed to vote. If I were a corporation, I would be packing right now.

Exactly, on either side of this issue politically it would be a dangerous expansion of power to whomever wield it, making it a much less democratic system than the current one they have (as flawed as it is).
