Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) hasn’t seen many of his fellow GOP lawmakers stand up for him amid his burgeoning scandal involving alleged sex trafficking — and apparently that’s no surprise.
What with some guy’s crashing into a barricade at the Capitol and injuring two police officers, if I were handling Gaetz’s PR I’d tell him that this would be an excellent time for him to resign.
I’ve been convinced for quite a while that a prerequisite to becoming a GQPer that you have your spine and your conscience removed…
With the exception of a few new congress critters who I assume will not be long in office, I have seen nothing in the past weeks/years to contradict this belief.
“Based on who’s publicly defended Gaetz… the Republican’s “few friends” in Congress consist of fellow Trump foot soldiers Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)…”
demanded that Cheney be stripped of her leadership role and even went as far as traveling to her home state to openly encourage her constituents to kick her out of office.
I think I can predict what footage Cheney will use during her primary, should there be one.
“few friends” in Congress consist of fellow Trump foot soldiers Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA),who was stripped of her committee assignments over her endorsement of deranged far-right conspiracy theories.
I’m finding a silver lining is the steamy pile of turds that was Trump years in DC.
His over the top actions made it seem ok for fellow shadow douchebags to be more brazen and public with their crimes and behavior. That only works when there is no fear of accountability.
Now that Daddy MAGA is gone, no one is left to stop the accountability and reckoning for those who shined during the Trump years.
