From Mueller Cooperator To Deep-State Conspiracy Monger: Flynn’s Big Day In Court | Talking Points Memo

On Tuesday, the public may get to see how former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s deep-state claims about his own plea deal hold up in a federal court.

Sidney Powell

You might want to wait to write anything until after the hearing on Tuesday

Wishful thinking on Powell’s part or does she know that they have finally found a way to get to Judge Sullivan. I hope they throw Flynn in jail for a good stretch

Flynn has long been a loose cannon. He screwed up what should have been a big opportunity at DIA.The fact that he walked so willingly into Turkey’s arms should have been a heads-up to his family that something was seriously off. Unfortunately, Mike G. Flynn his son, who graduated magna cum laude with a degree in golf course management, didn’t quite grasp the ethical and criminal issues of what Dad was getting into, enjoying dinner with Putin and kidnapping planning. A normal child would have tried to extricate a parent who had gone down the rabbit hole, not joined them.

One possible strategy is to delay as long as possible so any sentence including jail time - which looks more and more likely - will not be imposed until the election is near or over. That way, Trump can give him a pardon without concern about whether it will become part of the election allegations.
Otherwise, this is nuts. He’s exchanging his no-time sentence deal for one very pissed off federal judge.

Based on a notable previous encounter Flynn had with Judge Sullivan, I don’t think he’s going to get very far.

Spiralling out of control seems to be common among Trumpites

Always the hallmark of great legal advice, that when asked about a client’s case, they plug their book…

Guess Flynn’s appeal will be all about having had incompetent counsel.

So I’m betting that when the sentencing decision comes there’s going to be a written version laying out the facts as the judge sees them, and it’s going to make a pardon politically or even legally difficult.

Sidney Powell is not a smart person.

The judge is not letting this be slow-gamed. The motion was filed a week and a half ago. The hearing is tomorrow. That is quite quick for a federal court. Sullivan is going to squash this like a bug.

Bend over, Mikey. Here it comes again.

I’m not so sure about Sullivan. Yes, there’s a hearing tomorrow but if the defense can avoid the scheduling of a sentencing date for sometime in the next month, they’ve won.

What a complete lying, flipping, nasty POS Flynn has turned out to be. He went so high in his career only to implode it ALL BY HIMSELF but then blamed everyone else for it. He will do and say anything to save his a$$. He truly needs to be locked up.

Flynn was one of the first charged knowing that literally dozens of his colleagues were going to be charged as well. So at that time, it was get a deal to spare serving time, save a pension and get out.

Now that everything has played out and only a few people went to jail, and Mueller’s report and hearing landed with an overall “meh”., Flynn wants a do over to resume his lucrative consulting career. He can’t, or can’t as well with a conviction around his neck. That’s why he’s going to the max on this. . It’s all about the Benjamins.

The underappreciated part about the whole obstruction case. Clearly the guy on the inside knew how fucked they all were if the facts got out there…

I have to imagine the strategy is to piss off Sullivan and get Flynn a bad sentence that they can argue is totally disproportionate while Faux News goes crazy over it and convinces Donny Derpo to at least commute it.

Too late, Boris.

Maybe the prosecutors should go ahead and let Mikey withdraw his plea and take him to trial. Pass the popcorn!
