From Masking Naysayer to COVID Victim: The Louie Gohmert Story | Talking Points Memo

With the news that Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) has been diagnosed with COVID-19, it’s worth looking back at the congressman’s stance on the virus in recent months.

Karma!

"Stupidity is a talent for misconception" - Edgar Allan Poe

There is a lot of that going on in Gohmert and his maggot-brained supporters, no doubt about it!

COVID Victim ?

that is an absurd stretch … he has taunted the virus - and has now gotten bit - almost certainly because of his deliberate disregard for precautions … that he tested positive is not a surprise … and does not make him a “VICTIM” any more than a person who sticks their head in a lion’s mouth and gets bit - is a “victim” of the lion’s aggressions.

If what I was told was correct Gohmert was suppose to be on Dickhead 1 with Trump the Head Dickhead.
If Gohmert was correct on not wearing masks, why was he tested following Trump’s beliefs.

You might change the article headline - he’s no victim. The victims - are any of the NON-Naysayers - who were trying to be safe & he may have infected. He and his fellow Naysayers - are simply lost.

Louie Gohmert is the protagonist in the story of the Man Without a Mask, who would rather die than protect the lives of the people who elected him to represent them.

Oh, the fickle finger of Fate! Why Louie, God, WHY??

Three skydivers die in Antarctica, leaving the world to ask, “Why?”

“Given that masks are meant to protect against asymptomatic people spreading the virus, the comment was just one in a long line of bizarre or wrong statements about the virus from the Texas lawmaker.”

We need to get out of the “masks are only good at protecting others” paradigm. That is misinformation started by the administration, to cover for their inept response (specifically not getting us masks).

Masks not only help you entirely avoid the disease, if you do catch it you will have a lesser illness (due to the dose dependent nature of the illness).

Bill Barr for one who I just read got tested because he was at arm’s length with Louie.

Let’s hope he doesn’t get sympathy votes from the people in his district. I can’t understand why they keep re-electing him.

I don’t wish that he does get sick from the virus, but I wouldn’t be sad if it happened. In any case, I’m sure it won’t make him any more responsible, or sympathetic to victims of the virus.

It looks like the demon seed has entered one of Gohmert’s facial orifices and has put down roots in the immeditate vicinity, quite possibly his frontal lobe.

I really wish I could laugh about it, but the fact is it’s quite likely he spent some time infectious before the diagnosis, and who knows how many others will suffer because of his spreading this virus - congressional workers, constituents, travelers, restaurant workers, etc. because wearing a mask does a lot to reduce transmission rates even to others wearing a mask.

Schadenfreude is fun, true, but it doesn’t diminish my anger for one second.
