Vice President Mike Pence offered up the first direct defense of the Rose Garden COVID-19 superspreader event to unveil Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, casting it as a matter of freedom of choice.

Historically, Vice Presidential debates have made almost no difference in an election. This debate almost certainly won’t be an exception to that. If anyone says even a word about this debate after tomorrow, it will probably be about the fly that landed on Pence and nothing more.
I give that moderator (who was as useless as Wallace) about a 50/50 chance of catching covid from Pence or Pence’s maskless wife.

Harris missed the opportunity to make an obvious point, which is that this outbreak shows that some people simply can’t be trusted to do the right thing, and the problem is that it’s not just them who suffer the consequences, but innocent people like the White House staff.
