Fox News Reacts To Soleimani Strike | Talking Points Memo

We stopped the next attack.

So, the way to stop the next Republican campaign finance fraud would be to…?

“But he’s my war criminal. I say who’s a war criminal.”

How they can say “We stopped the next attack.” when Iran is threatening vengeance (literally the opposite) is proof all Trumpers live in a fog of insanity .

They love to honor our service members as long as it isn’t one of their kids.

Or

6 years on a base as a civilian employee I never met a lance corporal with a trust fund

Give them 36 hours, and the dissent will evaporate.

It seems like maybe the more experienced people (e.g. Rivera and Carlson) are skittish about supporting this move because their flag waving and eagerness during the last Gulf war foray turned into such a mess. Kilmeade is not too bright so he’ll jump right in.

So this assassination stopped one claimed attack. Does anyone with half a brain (i.e. not the orange one) think that this is the end of it? That there were no other attacks planned?

Unclear, but my guess would be no if it only involved impeachment and removal.

Now if he was also indicted, prosecuted and convicted to a jail sentence, then that may prompt removal of his lifetime SS protection. Or at the very least, the SS become his de facto guards in whatever facility he is imprisoned.

I am more interested which Trump family members and cronies just coincidentally purchased oil futures right before the assassination.

Those are the folks Kilmeade looks up to and wishes he could emulate.

Damn ! Suddenly I find myself sharing the viewpoints of both Geraldo Rivera and Tucker Carlson on the same day. I’m going back to bed and hope that I will wake up in a different world, no way this is the correct one.

In the lead up to the Iraq war Kilmeade was all rah rah until he was owned by Janeane Garofalo one morning. I think he was sputtering and all he had left was “support the troops”

Our oil addiction means that no matter what they say during the election, our POTUS will turn into a Neocon right quick.
Rivera and Carlson are shocked that a scorpion stung. Idiots.

Something about stopped clocks and all that… I think Tucker is a broken clock.

“We stopped the next attack!”

Imagine thinking that’s a good argument.

“Sorry, guys, we were going to launch a terrorist attack, but somebody killed the general, and now we’re stuck with nobody telling us what to do.”

Why would anybody think it stopped even one attack? Because Pompeo says so?

“I fear the worst,” Rivera said. “You’re going to see the U.S. markets go crazy today. You’re going to see the price of oil spiking today. “

I love his idea of what “the worst” outcome of an assassination would be.

I find it interesting that the universal talking point from the American media is that Soleimani had American blood on his hands and therefore deserved a good assassinating by the dotard. That American blood is only because our soldiers were sent into an illegal invasion of Iraq by Dim Son and the Iraqi people fought back. First Sadaam’s mostly Sunni army fought but soon gave up and we sent them out into the hinterlands with their weapons to form ISIS. Then under the banner of Muqtada al Sadr the Shiites took over the fight against the illegal invaders and with the aide of Shiite militia from Iran succeeded in stalemating the fight and installing a majority Shiite government in Iraq. Shiite’s killed American invaders and the American invaders killed the Shiites. Yes Soleimani was a major player just as our Centcom generals were major players. Blood on everyones hands but the bottom line is that Bush told heinous lies to launch his illegal invasion of Iraq and the middle east has come unhinged ever since. Media from Fox to Jennifer Rubin can’t speak or write a column without repeating that “Soleimani has American blood on his hands” but never reminding us why those Americans were in Iraq to begin with. Those soldiers were killed while they were attempting to kill Iraqis. Bush lied and hundreds of thousands died as a result and are still dying but it is not at the hands of this one man. We are loaded up with war criminals on our side and it does a gross disservice to repeat the new lie without including the reminder of why those Americans were in Iraq to begin with. As a Viet Nam veteran I’m nutting up again just as I did during the initial illegal invasion because the lies are being repeated by every American from Carlson to Joe Biden it seems.
