Nelson was quick to distance himself from the beleaguered congressman, saying he hadn’t spoken to him directly in “several months.” He also said that he’d never met Joel Greenberg, Gaetz’s friend and the former Seminole County tax collector who was indicted in August 2020 for alleged sex trafficking of a child.
Yes, I am absolutely sure the man I haven’t spoken to in several months and whose association with a seedy character charged with numerous felonies that I knew nothing about is absolutely innocent. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some texts I need to delete.
“First, I have never, ever paid for sex,” he wrote. “And second, I, as an adult man, have not slept with a 17-year-old.”
Two comments. He didn’t pay a woman for sex; like Charlie Sheen, he paid her to leave afterwards.
And it took every bit of self-restraint Gaetz had not to add, “Although when I was 15 I screwed around with a 17-year-old, and you can bet every one of my friends knew about it immediately.”
Retired Air Force Capt. Nathan Nelson, previously Gaetz’s director of military affairs for four years, held a very brief press conference Monday in front of what appeared to be his home.
Nelson, for your own sake:
1: STFU
2: Get a lawyer
3: STFU
You can get a lawyer now or get one later. Now will be much, much cheaper.
The authorities could clear up any deniability issues with one photograph distributed through his district on the side of milk cartons under “Have you seen me?”
What does director of military affairs pay for a back-bencher without any accomplishments and whose only claim to fame appears to be a sycophantic worship of a former president? It sounds like a sweet gig.
Gaetz loved sharing videos with collogues on the House floor of naked women he “banged”. Is it believable he didn’t also share this with his DC staff?
