According to Politico, Grenell will assume a senior role and work on the campaign’s fundraising efforts.
It looks like Grenell is leaving the government to become an extremely well-paid consultant to the Trump campaign. Well isn’t that nice?

It’s not the salary from the campaign that really matters, although Trump definitely has to pay a premium to buy loyalty. GOP campaign people are notorious for running media buys through their shady LLCs, which take a big cut of the spend as their fee. Parscale appears to have gotten quite wealthy off that scam, plus I would imagine many others. Trump does not like it when other people get rich off of him without making him any money.
