It’s hard to judge him because on the one hand he is so ignorant of ‘everything’ (nobody knows Lincoln was a Republican! Um, just you, you ignoramus) or if he ‘was’ being sly about ‘his’ military.

My guess is he is blissfully unaware of ANY history, until someone around him mentions something. Lincoln was a Republican! Frederick Douglass is doing great things!
And we know the list goes on and on.
HOWEVER, I could see Steve Miller steering a lot of these comments and decisions, because, you know, racist Nazi who enjoys “owning the libs.”
Plus…the “SS” is Miller’s dream corps.

It should go without saying: this was intentional and Trump, Miller, Parscale, Bannon, etc. are having a laugh over our reaction. Deflect, outrage, repeat. They know what they’re doing.

Can we just agree that Trump is a lazy sos (sack of shit)? This was on Twitter, Trump has been on Twitter when they originally had the character limit of 140 characters.
@mlbjorge as for quoting a local police chief (Miami, FL) from the '60s I can believe he didn’t know the man’s name, but he did know the phrase because it was probably repeated often in his circle since 1967.

I’d venture to say that before you used the “SS” abbreviation, you would have spelled out the name of the organization to which you were referring.
That being said, this looks like a significant Freudian slip, rather than some kind of intentional signal.

What amazing is that either interpretation - that he doesn’t know that SS is an abbreviation for Schutzstaffel, or that he does and is using it intentionally - is plausible.

not so. i just did. the first return was Schutzstaffel. if i wanted to refer to the secret service i would say “secret service”. if i wanted to refer to Schutstaffel i would say “SS”.
