Trump doesn’t necessarily think strategically, but he does think situationally. Very simply, he can show he has the power to destroy the joint venture truce between him and his followers and the GOP. Without his people, they can’t win. They need him. So he could tell his people, everybody stay home and let these frauds go down with the rest of Georgia GOP and we’ll put people in that you’ll like and we’ll win every time. But right now, the unelected Loeffler and douche Perdue need to be routed to show how much you need Trump in the future. Or he could go down and command his people to the polls in exchange for some concession. But what can Mitch or the GOP give him? They are Trump’s hostages. His real power, therefore, is in his ability to deny the GOP victory.

Thus saving them $20k a year in Health Care costs.

Last time I had this discussion with my gun-toting Republican brother, I had to remind him that his employer paid a lot more in pre-tax health insurance premiums than he paid in post-tax premiums. To his credit, he did hesitate a second before switching over to the “we’re not a Democracy, we’re a Republic” flavor of his Kool-Aid cocktail…

Do we in Georgia really want two of the richest people in the Senate to represent us? In a word no, we need people who understand what we face every day.

Or victims of the overzealous Commie witch hunt of J.Edgar Hoover, esp. Ethel.

When you are down to the Klondike Kardashian you are in trouble.

What can we expect?

If by “Midwesterners” you mean they were from Dallas then you’re absolutely right.

It other words - no one anyone actually knows about outside of political junkies.

Time fades memories - news at Eleven - but their executions were an enormous deal and not just at the time but for decades. Way, way beyond mere political junkies. Go read up on Roy Cohn’s role in their trial.

I am 57 - this was long before my time.

OTOH, had they said the Rosenburgs, I would have instantly known who they were talking about.

Rosenberg. Julius (who was in fact guilty, as later documentation revealed); Ethel (who evidently was not). Their executions were a big deal the year you were born and for quite a while thereafter.

Oooh, Mad Libs!

Texas is its own ___________.

I really don’t see anything in this article that would give someone a reason to vote Democratic in the run-off. Yes, the Republicans are corrupt. That’s not news. What problems are you going to solve for the voters you want to attract?

The bummer is that there are real things we can do to help working people do better: raise the minimum wage; make the ACA more affordable by cranking up subsidies until no one has to pay more than 4% of their income for health insurance; drop the Medicare eligibility age.

I hope that’s what the candidates are focusing on.

What does “connect race and class” even mean? Most people of any race want to succeed financially, which is the closest we have to class in this country.

Alls I can say is that todays republicans are the closest thing I have ever seen to a cult. How to deprogram people might be of more value.
