Why don’t the Republicans just have one big Burn-the-Constitution rally and get it over with.

Senators, Congressmen, Governors, State Legislators, and, of course, Supreme Court Justices and at least one spouse would all be there along with the MAGAT and corporate fascists.

Congratulations to Chief Justice Roberts and his 4 right wing cronies on the Supreme Court who declared a day of jubilee and said racism is over and the Voting Rights Act can be gutted.

DeSatan couldn’t have done it without you. Kudos. Take a bow.

DeSantis is Mini-me.

Can’t we just cut America’s dong loose? We would get rid of both of them (sorry, sane Floridians! :anguished:).

So I’m waiting for the court decision that says the governor’s message isn’t a sign of racial animus.

“DeSantis Pushes To Eliminate A Black Congressional District.”

Just the latest example of who DeSantis really is. He keeps telling us. Again and again and again…

After all, there are no black people in Florida.

They’re not even pretending anymore. They figure SCOTUS will back them, so all good.

I for one would like to see the map that creates what they think is fair. Yeah fair and DeSantis don’t go together, but I think the message now needs to be showing who these cretins are, instead of just relying on their words telling us who they are.

More accurately, they have no rights the white man is bound to respect. h/t Justice Taney.

Good thing racism is over.

Nah. That would be obvious and draw too much attention. Better to chip away at it until the day people wake up and America is what these fascist assholes say it is. They’re following a playbook because it works.

Prof Wax will be along to explain that Black people don’t really want to vote as long as they have access to fried chicken and watermelon.

10 people were shot in Brooklyn subway

Sixteen people were treated for injuries, including 10 for gunshot wounds, following the shooting in a Brooklyn subway station, said Laura Kavanagh, the acting FDNY commissioner, at today’s briefing.

"Ten of those patients are suffering from gunshot wounds at this time and five are in stable, but critical condition," Kavanagh said.

Apart from gunshot wounds, injuries varied from smoke inhalation to shrapnel to panic from the shooting, she added.

There were no life-threatening injuries suffered during today’s shooting, New York City Police Department Commissioner Keechant Sewell said

I am sorry but “critical condition” even if stable at the moment is life threatening.

Yeah buddy! Where’s DeSatis from? Up North? Must be if he thinks we’re that dumb down here in Margaritaville. This won’t fool anyone nor do our local yokel GOP’ers care. BUT DeSantis relies on statewide support to win. You can’t gerrymander an entire state. There’s been a slight trend among Black voters in the South to believe GOP’er head faking and take up the notion that all the Democrats want to do is keep them on the plantation. That may account for DeSantis being in office as he won buy a minuscule margin over a Black guy. But this. If you want to energize a faction of the electorate you can do no better than to fuck them over in broad daylight and in their faces.

Sue, but under the “independent state legislature doctrine” that the map has to come from the legislative, not executive, branch. Once it gets to the Supreme Court they have to either a) accept the DeSantis map and rule that the ‘independent state legislature doctrine’ is bunk or b) follow it and overrule DeSantis’s map.

Isn’t everybody in FL from someplace else?

I lived in Hialeah for a year in 1961. About all I remember is opening my toy box one day and 100 million roaches came streaming out. Scared the crap out of me. Dad flew for PanAm. And Parrot Jungle was awesome!

edit: Dumbya won the state by 528 votes, I think.
