“Y’all are going to make it happen,” Harris told an audience in Orlando which is has historically been home to a swath of swing voters. She added that early voters in the sunshine state would “be the first to put our country back on the right track,” for a Biden victory in a critical battleground state.
Okay people, listen up. Do not fuck this up. Trump has to be rejected by at least 10 million votes. The Germans (and the rest of the world with the possible exception of Russia) are counting on you. It seems the Germans are uncomfortable with their new-found status as leaders of the free world.
Remember that like KY and TN, Florida has two time zones. The western panhandle is central time, and on election day polls will close an hour later. In Kentucky, results from the conservative western counties typically swamp the lead Dems initially get from Louisville and Lexington. Probably the same in Florida, although I imagine Memphis keeps western TN bluish.
If, by left, they mean “left sanity behind”. I can’t see that we’re farther left, given the court packing by the GOP. Legislatively, we haven’t moved one way or the other, except for tax cuts for the wealthy. It’s hard to remember what happened before the Dems took the House; they may have passed some bills, but all I remember is blocked oversight.
Question regarding Florida early voting -
Does anyone know - conceptually- how these votes fit into the process?
A. are the early votes going into a giant bucket - the same bucket as election day votes - so that when the polls close and the initial returns are reported … it will be a co-mingled composite of the early & election day votes ?
OR
B. do the “early votes” get treated like paper absentee ballots that just get to be done at the polling place … and get segmented off to be counted via another method & added later in the process.
… if it is A. … and if the Big Blue Tsunami is for real …and if the early voting is overwhelmingly Biden Blue … Biden will win Florida wire-to-wire and by a huge margin …
I don’t know why late last night I tuned into local broadcast TV stations, there were no ads except for political ones. The one that made me laugh out loud featured the wife of the current Governor of MO, going through Mike Parsons career, and her message was Mike has always served to protect Missourians, which is funny since she and Mike both tested positive for COVID-19. And when she knew the results she took herself down to Boliver, MO where they are from instead of staying in Jeff City.
The Trump campaign has held “Team Trump On Tour” bus events to drive up momentum, including stops in Pensacola and Tallahassee that featured Trump ally Rep. Matt Gaetz (R).
Trump campaigning in the Florida panhandle is truly carrying coals to Newcastle. This is prime crazy territory, usually known as southern Alabama or southern Georgia. If Trump is campaigning here, he clearly feels a need to whip up enthusiasm among his base rather than looking for new voters.
A good portion of Miami Dade, Palm Beach and Broward counties results usually come in last In Florida.
Tampa Bay Area and Orlando are usually the bellwethers in FL. I’ll be very curious to see how those turn out.
