Yes, yes, yes to ALL of this. Immigrants are not only helping us NOW but this is the history of the American story. In today’s divisive environment ‘some’ people would have us forget how much energy, innovation and work immigrants bring to this country and then THEY become Americans and another wave comes. Thank you for this.

More articles like this please, a lot more. We don’t need to know every stupid thing Trump says, even if just 1/10 of the media space he takes up were devoted to positive articles about our fellow Americans like this one and we would make some much needed progress. Amplify the positive majority, not the negative minority please.

Great analysis and written in a way that does not pit immigrant consituencies against each other.

There are no immigrants in the Michigan Militia.
Another great thing about them.

Can Dems. stay on message for 4 mins, please? The only thing that matters right now is getting rid of Trump. All good things flow from that. Everything else is a distraction. Stay On Message. Trump is Death. Trump Must Go.

All non citizen immigrants working in food production and other vital services, including the undocumented, should be automatically given a clear path to citizenship.

Period. Full stop.

What arrogant garbage. As to the immigrants here in health care, many of them have displaced USA citizens from getting medical residences, which is, in point of fact, illegal. Every foreign medical worker in the USA is here at the expense of a USA medical student who did not get the residency required to actually work as a physician.

The most arrogant part of it is the continued strip-mining of talent throughout the world for the benefit of the USA. This is a point made by Ralph Nader, by E Fuller Torrey - every medical worker in the USA from a 3rd world country is one less worker in that 3rd world country helping his own people. Many 3rd world countries educate workers at public expense only to see them go to the USA. That means that, when there is a medical emergency in the country of origin, the workers are in the USA. During the Ebola crisis of 2014 or so, many of the workers from the affected countries were in the USA. They didn’t help their own people. That’s wrong, and it’s the arrogance of liberals to think that cheap foreign labor is their right.

This arrogant jerk author should turn his attention to Iraq, his country of origin, which has a physician shortage. Of course, for many like him, it’s all about HIM and his GETTING AHEAD, not paying back his native land. Arrogant AND completely ungrateful, in one package.
