On Sunday evening, the New York Times reported that the U.S. Department of Justice had launched a federal criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell in a dramatic escalation of President Donald Trump’s pressure campaign against the Fed. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia’s probe focuses on the cost and scope of…
I really would like to see them impeach Mango Mussolini one more time. That would be a record-breaker. I have no hopes that any of the Senate GOP would vote to convict, but hoping the stress might kill him.
Who cares?
Yes won’t have 67 votes in the senate however would you want Vance running as an incumbent in 2028?
And a bipartisan group of 13 of the nation’s top economists issued a joint statement condemning the administration’s “criminal inquiry” into Powell as “an unprecedented attempt to use prosecutorial attacks to undermine” Federal Reserve independence. Economists who signed the statement include: two-term Fed Chair and former President George W. Bush’s economic advisor Ben Bernanke, five-time Fed Chair Alan Greenspan, conservative economist and former Bush advisor Glenn Hubbard, Jared Bernstein, who chaired the Council of Economic Advisers under President Joe Biden, and former Treasury Secretary and Fed Chair Janet Yellen. [Emphasis mine.]
For some time now I’ve assumed that Alan Greenspan must have Alzheimer’s or some debilitating disease that has affected his ability to think clearly. It’s been years since I’ve seen his name in the news.
One of the most common criticisms of Greenspan was and is that he politicized the Fed when he chaired it by publicly taking positions on fiscal policy (rather than confining his statements to monetary policy) and by doing things like harping about the deficit when Clinton was president but saying nothing about it when it ballooned under Bush.
Ironic, I guess you could say.
Block Trump nominees to the Federal Reserve? Heck, the Senate ought to block ALL of Trump’s nominees. Period. This level of persecution, for no reason other than to throw a big tantrum and inflict his baby-like will, is intolerable. Standing up against it is mandatory.
Frankly, I’m impressed that at least a few Senators have spoken up. May they be a beacon of courage to the rest, who sadly need it. Their constituents (hint, hint) need to remind them of their duty to the Constitution over trump.
A pathological narcissist (Narcissistic Personality Disorder - NPD) shows a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, a deep need for excessive admiration, and a significant lack of empathy, leading to exploitative behaviors, entitlement, arrogance, and fragile self-esteem hidden beneath a superior facade, often resulting in volatile reactions to criticism and troubled relationships.
Key symptoms include inflated self-importance, fantasies of unlimited success, belief in being “special,” exploiting others, envy, and an inability to recognize others’ needs.
It only takes a few to show some courage and more may follow. I’ve got my fingers crossed.
This endless fucking jihad is making ISIS and the Taliban look like damn amateurs.
And remind me, how many of oathbreaker traitor Trump’s cabinet officials were investigated by DoJ in his 1st term?
Carson and his office furniture, Mnuchkin and his travel vacations with his wife on our dime, all the others we can’t recall off the top of our head?
This is one of the reasons why people are mad at the Democrats, all those names and corruption lost because they weren’t pissed off enough or scared enough or strong enough.
More like they know the impact this will have on the economy and their own interests and assets, and can anticipate the howls of their constituents.
Not quite the same as courage.
Everything Trump touches, dies. He keeps failing upward.
Tillis has nothing to lose. He’s retiring.
It’s a Trumped-up investigation, no matter what he says.
Not quite the same, but it still might help us.
I have an idea, wait until after Dems win the House in 2026 … then impeach both Mango and his little sidekick at the same time ![]()
