Fifth Circuit Used An SEC Case To Declare Open Season On Agencies

Feral hogs are a huge problem in Texas, and are allowed to be killed in almost any manner, even from helicopter. So killing 455 of them, is probably the only public service he’s ever performed.

I don’t hate him more. I just hate him.

The phrase “we are all in the same boat” seems to be missing for too many individuals. I have always liked your optimistic take on things.

And your assessment of our political landscape

Excerpt:
European energy companies are finding workarounds to keep Russian crude flowing while placating public opinion, a media report said.

The point is to market a barrel in which only 49.99% comes from Russia; in Shell’s eyes, as long as the other 50.01 percent is sourced elsewhere, the oil cargo isn’t technically of Russian origin, the Bloomberg report said.

You are quite right, of course. I am looking at it through the lens of someone who votes in such a red district that a significant number of local seats are going to the GOP unopposed.

Had someone from Dems Abroad on the phone today urging me to participate in the Dem primary for my voting district. There is literally not a single race where there is more than one Dem is currently running (and a number with zero). I will be there in November, for sure, and I admire the folks who are willing to run, all of whom will get my vote, sight unseen.

You remember the stuff about Antrim County and the voter fraud stuff? Right next door… Michigan Militia? Right next door. The kid who shot up classmates after his folks gave him a gun? Right down the road from where I used to live in the Detroit area…

Generally I am always optimistic and always believe that things will turn out for the better. Right now, stuff is getting to me, so I think I have to take a break.

My brother who spent his career with the state DNR said shooting elk is like shooting cows in a herd. No gamesmanship at all. Big heroes.

The story says the kid was driving.

But it’s government regulations (like driver licensing) that are the real problem.

I went to my former store today. We are under a massive renovation, even the restrooms are closed and relocated to a trailer outside the store.

Like to see him try it there: a quarter of the store is inaccessible. Nowhere to run to; nowhere to hide……

It’s clear that dumb people will make our government’s job immensely worse by foisting off crackpot non-delegation theories. And these guys are signing us up for more dumb.

I haven’t assaulted anyone. They may have assaulted me, but subsequent actions were / are entirely in self-defense. What’s your story ?

I went to my local Target on Sat., and they’ve got a corner of the children’s dept roped off and empty. All the stuff I wanted to looked at was mooshed together in a corner. They went through reno during the pandemic, so what gives?
(and yes the shipping containers in the parking lot are back again)

Certainly sounds like renovations. A general accusation of Target is that many stores look old and dated. Ours here hadn’t had any significant work done on it in 10 or 15 years. It’s finally underway.

I know that it hadn’t had a redo in that time frame, but it always looked neat and clean, unlike the Walmart in the same center.
I wonder if this one part couldn’t be finished during the pandemic because they couldn’t get the new fixtures? Or something like that.

Having spent nearly a year on renovations for the cottage, between labor and material shortages, I would not doubt your suggestion.

And our local Walmart here is a rat hole.

Looking at about half the number of shipping cabinets in the parking lot, this one small corner must be a hell of $ per sq ft for Target. And then I remembered to factor in what had to squeezed in that back corner to empty that space.

I worked for Border for almost 15 years before it closed. I opened two stores, and I moved my last store- the biggest store in the area, to a smaller location. And all I can say is I’m glad books are rectangles, but probably heavier per lb than the majority of the merch in Target.
Egads we mostly begged library carts from the area stores. Put the books on by section. Shrink wrapped them, and put them on a moving truck.
Then the half of us at the new location just had to wheel them to right section in the new store, and then shelve.
We still ended up having to order thousands of books from our distributors. Which meant those books had to be unboxed, sorted, put on carts, and then shelved.
THE PROCESS WORKED! Well mostly worked well. Still it was a lot faster then setting up new stores.

Our store typically has storage containers in the parking lot during the holiday season - they show up at Hallowe’en and are typically gone by mid-January.

The containers this time are in a far corner of the lot, opposite of where they’ve typically been located, so I have to wonder if those containers have the new fixtures, lighting, et al, for the renovation.

I will probably be gone east before they are finished with this work, but my former team lead tells me they’re expanding the store to include a Sephora or Ulta or something like that. She’s in line to become the lead person for that new segment, getting her out of front of store. She’s a pretty thing and will seriously enhance the area.

Our stockroom on the other hand was crammed to the gills on any given day. The footprint is just too small - we aren’t a super Target either, which annoys most of our customers. We have the grocery section, but we aren’t allowed to have the paper bags (vs. the plastic) because we aren’t a Super. When one is spending hundreds of dollars on groceries, those plastic bags are a nuisance. I became an expert in packing those orders, to the point where some customers always came to me, as I minimized bags.

Fortunately, those that complained, I could always tell them that we recycle those bags over the service desk and invited them to bring any and all back with them on the next trip (that and printer ink cartridges).

I’ve shot BB guns in the backyard and single shot .22 caliber bolt-action rifles at Boy Scout camp. I’m no hunter, though I can appreciate the skill and patience involved in a real hunt–being able to call birds within range, silently tracking one’s prey from downwind, or sitting patiently for hours in a deer stand for the chance at a single shot–but I completely agree w/ you, @teenlaqueefa. THIS ain’t huntin’, this is the killing floor.

I’ll also add that no one here should forget that Darth Cheney was doing the same thing in South Texas when he mistook his buddy’s face for a game bird–hey, what are buddies for, right?–then made the buddy apologize for catching his shot!!
