Well, to be fair, they got nuthin’ else.

Moi aussi, but to be honest, I am not all that hopeful.

Another Voltaire quote applicable to these fools especially those supporting the big lie:

If you can get them to believe absurdities, you can get them to commit atrocities.

They will when the revolution comes…they hope.

Just think they didn’t even have to drop a percussion bomb on his house like the Philly police did to the Move cult in 1985.

Me neither. What would they find there? Trump doesn’t own a computer. I suppose they could grab his phone, but it’s not going to store any metadata they couldn’t get directly from the phone company, and he’s probably too paranoid to have recorded any relevant audio.

Can I buy an S, Vanna?

Let’s start matriculating those fledgling conspiracy charges in to 18 U.S.C. § 2384 University.

Lots and lots of notes covered in black Sharpie? Flattering letters from sycophantic perps hoping for his blessing? Doubt he reads digital docs, he can barely make it through 2nd grade level stuff on paper.

That applies to the entire Empty Suit Strutting About As The Earthly Avatar and Sole Corporeal Vessel Conveying Power, Prestige, Gluttonous Excess, Virility, Outrageous Fortune and All That Is Worthy Of Envy that is Donald Jessica Trump.

“chair in the middle of the room”

Perhaps they wanted him to sit where he could not hinder their search.

He probably was disappointed they did not interrogate him.

Someone should tell Trump the ratings would go through the roof!

I remember that. It was horirific. I think the police chief was named Rizzo?

Not sure what they would find, but TFG is surrounded by assistants of one sort or another. Someone is taking notes, monitoring correspondence (in whatever form that takes), keeping track of phone numbers and contacts, etc. TFG ain’t doing that himself.

Also the part where it says he should be released from pretrial detention because the FBI executed a search warrant on him.

The search warrant was on the home of an associate of the defendant, not the defendant himself. Because apparently, searching someone else means they don’t have evidence against the actual defendant, ergo he must be released.

ETA: Also incredibly stupid is the statement on p.3 where the defendant’s lawyer writes that the FBI “ransacked his house along with his half-naked girlfriend.” Unless the half-naked lady really was ransacked, in which case she should find a better lawyer than this idiot. Though I suppose maybe she was doing the ransacking, which would be kind of awesome.

I also remember it well since it was national news. No it was after Frank Rizzo was mayor. However when he was police commissioner he would set loose his literal army after them. Last year during the pandemic I watched a documentary about it. The previous incidents with the cult were due to neighbors quality of life complaints however when the police arrived like a literal army they ramped it up and worsened the situation.

Sure, but unless he’s committing new crimes the Feds might be interested in after leaving office, the focus of current investigations like this Proud Boys raid is the 1/6 insurrection. Some of his minions at Mar a Lago may have been involved in that, and maybe they’ll be targeted at some point. But that may not require a raid on Mar a Lago itself, which would be a high profile event to put it mildly.

I don’t think they’d get anything useful from Trump himself, other than outrage. Biden is releasing documents in the National Archive from his time in office, and there will (eventually) be testimony from whoever he was talking to while in office. His retirement home just doesn’t seem that relevant as a raid target, unless the well has really run dry elsewhere.

And Trump was at Mar-a-GoGo for all the planning stages of his rally and his coup attempts right up until his surprise early return to the WH on New Year’s Eve to manage the final steps on-site.

Could see stuff like visitor’s logs/hotel guests at Mar-a-GoGo from at least Christmas thru the end of the year as being of high interest.
