Quite a few of the insurrectionists came in expecting to tangle with “Antifa” – i.e., Trump opponents – in the streets. That’s what happened during the “Million Maga March” in December, and it’s also how a lot of the Proud Boy/militia types like to spend their spare time.
I think he forgot part of his statement, I decided to help him out and add it back in. Much more accurate.
I disagree. I had students whose first job was McDonalds. They uniformly praised both the work environment and the training. They had no intention of making it a career, but considered it valuable experience for a teenager.
My maternal grandfather had a theory that the US of A is not big enough for the outcasts, the non conformists, and thus with a young country they were always heading West. And then they ran out of country, so some moved to Alaska.
I believe this was theory handed down on his father’s side of the family. They came to the New World when they were British subjects.
And if the III%ers, or the Proud Boys and others can’t find Antifas then they’ll designate individuals to be suspected Antifa. The boys have got to blow off some steam, or who knows what they’ll get up to.
I worked at a McDonald’s for a full year in, maybe, 1984? On the graveyard shift, changing fryer fat, mopping the floors and cleaning windows.
At that age, I agree, it was an important learning experience. I mean, they paid me like $6.50 an hour! Or something.
But the dullards who invaded the Capitol don’t seem capable of learning ANYTHING. So consigning them to McDonald’s for the rest of their lives seems fitting.
Sounds like a good theory to me. The outcasts have become the would-be terrorists. If we reduced our population and paid attention to giving everyone the opportunity to feel fulfilled, we would be in a better place.
And how long ago did you have these students?
I’ve had these conversations with my contemporaries, some have entered their 6th decade and some are about to, and they to said working at McDonalds was a good first job. But talking to some of my younger former co-workers it wasn’t a good place to work in the 90s or 2000s.
Now did anyone notice that Donnie Hyatt is currently in Alaska?
What a bunch of whiny ass punks. Do they actually think their complaining is going to help them?
Why not Taco Bell or Wendy’s where they would be eating bad food even by fast food standards?
sorta like Trump
I suspect, if they ran the “listening for Antifa” line by the FBI, one of the counts will be the same ‘process crime’ that took General Flynn off the streets.
Somehow, they don’t seem to have grasped that lying to a federal agent is a felony.
Seventh grade? Maybe Eighth grade for some of the more ambitious? ![]()
Burger King! It’s the pits!
I imagined he was trying to get a boat to Kamchatka.
Well, your kids will be safe from Antifa in the child welfare system, right?
Smart enough for “use my private server”, but not so smart as to not brag about it on someone else’s server.
Would that all “patriots” could be as dumb and easy to coral as these twinks.
Depends a lot on the franchisee. No quality control, unlike the better ones. We don’t frequent fast food places except when there’s nothing else.
Maybe expectations had begun to shift by then? Or maybe the fact that real salaries income (edit) (adjusted for inflation) were already in decline by that point? Haven’t done that sort of labor since the early '70s, but have definitely seen a significant shift in expectations and salary models since then…
Well here’s some good news.
