Fauci Warns Protesters That Ignoring Stay At Home Orders Is ‘Going To Backfire’

“If you jump the gun and go into a situation where you have a big spike, you’re going to set yourself back.”

Common sense is MIA in this crowd. They’re determined to have their way regardless of the consequences. Their slogan “Here, hold my beer” has already gotten a lot of people killed, but they’re somehow, someway going to be different?

They can hurt or kill themselves if they want. Unfortunately, they’re taking others with them. They can’t even seem to understand that part of it.

Tough guys/gals with guns don’t listen to nerds.
They blame eggheads for their grievances, too.
It’s how they became downwardly mobile in the first place, of course…

Some of the protesters were blocking entrances into hospitals. These nurses said not on their watch.

When I look at the picture of the pickup truck passenger yelling at the health care worker standing in the crosswalk its as if they are yelling about China doing a American Tiananmen Square but siding with the authoritarian in the White House.

Trump and his supporters remind me of Rosanne Barr. She was funny right up to the moment you realized that whining was her entire schtick.

Plus cars are made with govenment mandated safety standards, licensing requirements, insurance requirements, policing, insurance requirements, etc! Granted accidents have finally started increasing after years of steady decline. Probably due to cell phone use that I’m guessing might require more laws before too much longer!

And I think Donald ought to go speak at the rallies, shake hands with the faithful, sign autographs and body parts.

I learned more from that six minute interview with Dr. Fauci than anything from the daily Trump/Pence geek show.

He’s talking to the same dicks who were chanting, “Fire Fauci!”
The folks his boss has validated.
I’d guess his words sound like a Charlie Brown teacher’s voice to them.
It’s a waste of breath.

“So as painful as it is to go by the careful guidelines of gradually phasing into a reopening, it’s going to backfire,” he continued. “That’s the problem.”

Yes, “unfortunately” is the right way to start your point. Fauci has to assume he’s dealing with adults. Nothing he says will make a difference to them, having nothing to lose as their lives are going nowhere and they have little to no impulse control. But I’m sure Trump noticed Fauci getting out in front of him this morning. Do Democrats have Fauci’s back?

Dr. Fauci should have gone on Fox and Friends so he could get this message to Trump.

On second thought, it wouldn’t have mattered unless it was associated with a polling drop.

Dr. Fauci knows how viruses play. The protestors and Trump don’t. That’s why the difference in their words. One guy knows what he’s talking about and a mob does not.

If protective measures are lessened the virus’s offense will take advantage and it will get worse. There is no other outcome. Trump’s in deep shit here. By now he has to know what’s going on. If his supporters have put him in the position of “opening the economy” or losing in 2020 perhaps he needs to rethink those supporters. He won’t.

The virus will win.

Couldn’t agree more. PP had a rally round the leader bump, it disappeared quickly, and so in order to appease his crazies, he’s going to stay in crazy, liberate mode. Nothing the good doctor says is going to stop PP from lashing out if he sees his reelection prospects slipping away.

@danny the daily Trump/Pence geek show campaign rally paid for by MSM just like they did in 2016.

In Michigan there was a group of men openly carrying firearms at the protest. Why? were they going to shoot the virus? Here’s an explanation that tells you this protest was not abut being told to stay home or businesses closing:

“It is the vernacular of fear,” said Meacham. “We have two tributaries in American life. We have a tributary of hope, of building of a journey toward a more perfect union despite our manifest faults and we have a tributary of fear which is they are coming for us. And there’s always been a they.
Jon Meacham

Unfortunately the THEY is something that takes a electronic microscope to even see.
