I am concerned that the news coverage of the protests has almost completely pushed pandemic coverage off the air. People do need to be reminded that this isn’t over.

Trump can’t even pretend to care about covid-19 anymore.
The more seniors see this, the less likely he gets enough 65+ votes in key states to win in November.

I’m still aghast at his utter dereliction of duty. Pandemic raging? He doesn’t care. Chaos in the streets? Not his problem. Police brutality. That’s actually a good thing from his perspective. 41 million people unemployed? He has no clue what to do.
Meanwhile, he cowers in a bunker while the exterior lights of the White House are turned off. I thinks that symbolism won’t be lost on the American people.

Yeah pinching yourself every day, or doing whatever to make sure you’re actually not still asleep in a nightmare, has gotten old, right? He’s never been the “president.” He never will be. This four years will be written into history as a gap—a black hole of sorts—in which there was not a functioning executive branch but rather a bunch of looters enabling a really stupid wannabe mob boss.
Covid is over as far as these people are concerned. The country is on fire and the AG is mumbling shit about mail in vote counterfeiting. The SecState is arranging more secret sales of WMD to the Saudis. Ivanka is probably in China nailing down some more trademarks. Miller is working on contracts for detention camps for protestors with Kusher, who is lining up razor wire vendors. This can’t be happening, right? But it actually is.

Trump obviously feels as if he needs a spin doctor these days, rather than a real physician. This is consistent with the idea that Trump is focused entirely on his own reelection rather than the death toll among U.S. citizens. As others have noted, Trump is “the current occupant”, a “president” with a lower case “p”. My only hope is that we’ll survive long enough as a country to have a real one again.

Confirmed deaths officially up to 106,000 but add a few thousand to that because of GOP governors manipulating the numbers etc. New cases up by 21,000 since yesterday. Two weeks from now when the infections due to the protests take effect we will be back up to 50,000/day and over a thousand deaths. Here in Alaska we had the largest daily gain yesterday with 27 new cases even as our GOP governor opens the state up to travelers most of whom come through Seattle. This thing is going to get worse so take care of yourself.

People do need to be reminded that this isn’t over.
We’ll all get a reminder in about two more weeks when COVID 19 revisits the Reopening of America.
The undercount in March and early April, when many deaths were not being recorded as COVD-19, estimated through excess death statistics is above 30,000 nationwide. So we are really pushing 140K,
