Fauci Suggests Trump’s COVID Adviser Is ‘Outlier’

When this Trumpian nightmare is over and the suing season starts, I hope that some plaintiffs name Fox News as co-defendants. I realize that they’re protected but until such time a judge kicks them out of the law suit the media will have a field day reporting their indifference to science and truth. And I’d love to see the experts talk about Hannity, Carlson, and Ingraham. The may be opinion presenters, but somehow they should be shamed and pilloried by legal experts and other media outlets. Fox too has death on their hands.

Trump is such a weak man. He will continue to fume and whine and complain, but doesn’t have the guts to directly confront Fauci on anything because Trump lacks any integrity or faith in his own prognostications.

He showcases his weakness day in, day out.

And Fauci? He always wins.

Geeze, that’s obvious, captain!

Yes. Yes, it is.

Trump is jelly of Anthony because Anthony has earned respect. Fauci’s respect comes from working on hard problems, without whining. While Trump is all about the “look at me, look at me” without putting in the work.

I think there is probably a story there about why Atlas left Stanford. People there are not going to be allowed to talk about it, but why he left likely has some bearing on his being off the scientific rails now. He was at the pinnacle of medical research and education at Stanford. What led him to give it all up?

If there was ever any doubt that Trump understands, the Bob Woodward tapes erased it in my mind.

Next time I’m exhorted “if you see something, say something” and follow the examples of Fauci, Dr. Scarf and Redfield, which can be summed up thusly:

Quiet confidence instead of whiny bombast. Quite the contrast.

That image kind of evokes M.C. Escher’s woodcut print Puddle:

Is it any surprise that the unqualified advisor that says what Trump wants to hear is favored over the competent specialists who aren’t? Trump shopped around until he could find support for his preferred (bankrupt) position. The fact that his new favorite’s interpretation could literally result in thousands of unnecessary deaths pales in comparison to Trump’s ego and reelection chances.

Suggests? Only suggests?

I see that the US deaths are back to 276+or- for yesterday from 1,000+or- on weekdays. This tells me that states are not reporting accurately on the weekends of intentionally under reporting. There is no other reason for the death rate to drop so far on a day by day basis.

To me this kind of thing is easy.
If you work for trumper instead of for the American people, You are a liar and will lie because to work for trumper you have to lie.
Like my grand pappy would say, " is you is or is you ain’t a good person".
See that’s kinda simple, yet to the point.

The current case rate of 45,000 cases/day is still about 50% greater than the first peak of the pandemic in mid April, which was about 30,000 cases/day. While we appear to be in a cusp relative to the second peak (~75,000 case) in July following the Juneteenth rally in Tulsa that killsd Herman Cain and the Rushmore rally in South Dakota, I think the increases are ominous. We could be headed toward another peak.Time will tell.

Hate to be a nitpicking jerk here but this is the second story today by Summer Concepcion in which she writes that Altlas is a neurologist (I think she’s mis-transcribed the text from the original NBC story). The reason it matter is because he is a neuroradiologist, which is significantly lower on medical food-chain than a neurologist. He’s basically an x-ray/MRI/CATscan technician spouting off on stuff that’s way higher than his pay-grade. Much like Rand Paul being a “doctor” because he studied optometry…

Millions of unnecessary deaths, and 10s of millions of survivors with damaged organs.
