White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday once again found himself sparring with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) when the Republican senator repeatedly questioned the nation’s top infectious disease expert about the origins of COVID-19.
The NIH didn’t fund it.

I’m constantly amazed that Rand Paul is only the second most-evil Senator from Kentucky.
I used to think most of these Republican hacks actually know better, but I am becoming more suspicious each day that, because they use nothing but RW media, a majority of them actually believe the bullshit they constantly regurgitate. Somehow that is worse.
GOP Senators have spent this entire hearing basically alleging Fauci is responsible for the world pandemic. And therefore, since Republicans had nothing to do with it, why the hell should they take any part in masks or vaccines or anything else to bring it under control? It’s not their fault, they shouldn’t have to do anything, right?
Man, just when you think Ron Johnson and Senator Coach Tuberville have a deathgrip on the belt for America’s Dumbest Senator, Rand Paul comes out of nowhere to demand a title shot.
Paul, who was the first senator to test positive for COVID-19 last year, asked Fauci repeatedly about a theory that suggests the coronavirus started in a Wuhan research lab before somehow escaping — which has circulated within right-wing and conspiracy theory sites for months.
Jesus, Rand is such a god-damned fuckin’ weenie. And a teensie-tiny weenie at that.
“Senator Paul, with all due respect, you are entirely, entirely and completely incorrect,” Fauci said. “The NIH has not ever, and does not now, fund ‘gain of function research’ in the Wuhan Institute.”
Fauci needs to have an anger translator who will just get up, walk across to Weenie Rand and bitch-slap that insipid puke to the floor.

I watched the exchanges between Dr. Fauci and Senator Idiot until nausea drove me outside. What does Rand Paul intend to accomplish with this other than cementing the Most Obnoxious Senator Award ?
You have to watch out for Paul. What he’s doing is chucking a phrase around “gain of function” and a boogeyman “Wuhan” in hopes of associating them with Fauci and CDC. In lay terms all Gain of Function amounts to is enhancement of a viral property in order to study it better or manipulate it in order to assist in vaccine formation. It can also be used to describe enhancement of lethality in bio weapons applications and that’s what Paul is trying to insinuate. The USA does not fund or cooperate with bio weapons production with its ADVERSARIES. No country does.
Gain of Function is a safe and legitimate virologist’s tool. It’s being done by them in labs all over the USA. I can’t imagine how Paul thinks his head fake is going to help the USA in its battle with COVID. It’s destructive and just what China, Russia and Iran would want out of him.
And isn’t this so blatently what it is. A has been eye doc that never made shit out of the profession or properly certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology doing his best to enhance “Gain of Function” in so far as COVID’s body count in the USA is concerned up against a high wire Pro the world loves.

So, Senator Paul believes his party’s President and administration authorized the creation of the virus that’s killed 600,000 plus Americans?
