Before Thanksgiving became an established national holiday, it was customary for the President to declare “a day of Thanksgiving” based on fortuitous events… I expect President-elect Biden will declare a National Day of Thankgiving & Remembrance once the vaccine has been distributed and COVID is under control (or eradicated).
That said, I expect that the tail-end of the pandemic in the U.S. will be filled with MAGA anti-masker & anti-vaxxer dead-enders. I hate to say it, but their foolishness will drag the pandemic out for months longer than necessary – and I won’t mourn the loss of any of them.
HAhaha – I loved this. And I even liked calculus.
LOL!!!
As someone who knows way too much math, I found this extremely amusing.
Have I ever been dead? (Darned close, but I was brought back). I didn’t see or feel a thing.
You know this how? (from the Teachings of the White Ashes):
"When the winds of impermanence blow, our eyes are closed forever;
And when the last breath leaves us, our face loses its color.
Though loved ones gather and lament, it is of no avail. The body
vanishes from this world with the smoke of cremation, leaving only
the white ashes. There is nothing more real than this truth in life.
The fragile nature of human existence underlies both the young and
the old; therefore, we must, one and all, awaken to the ultimate source
of life.
By understanding the reality of death, we shall come to fully
appreciate the meaning of this life which is unrepeatable and thus
to be treasured."
That’s probably the way it will play out. Me, I believe the MAGA crowd will eventually give up as Lardass becomes a shut-in down in Mar-a-A Logo. They’re all followers and w/o a platform and ‘leader’ will just return to sitting on a bar stool at a local tavern bitching to their like-minded friends.
That’s nice but I’ll be surprised if there’s no afterlife.
Everyone (save the completely crazy dead enders) is going to happy to see him gone. We are not the only ones.
@geographyjones I’ll be surprised if there is.
More progress will be made in this one single meeting between Fauci and the incoming Biden administration than has been made in the past year that Trump and Kushner have known about this virus.
That’s nice but I’ll be surprised if there’s no afterlife.
I’ll be surprised if there is.
@26degreesrising
I’ll be pissed if there isn’t.
The good news is if there isn’t we’ll never know. Sort of.
Yes, it’s best we don’t know, and no, not even sort of. That way we won’t be able to dwell on the life we could have lived.
@geographyjones @26degreesrising @darcy
I think that is my point – Put your effort into this life: yours and all others around you. Now. Not in the past, not in the future. Now.
About time! Though I completely understand what took them so long. (Today is one month past Election Day!!). The Trump shitshow is not without effect.
Meeting concluded, Fauci will return… more details later
So Obama, Bush, and Clinton have all said they’d all take the vaccine in public to show its safety. Biden, asked about this said he would gladly follow the lead of his three predecessors. That had to hurt.
