Question for the lawyers here: What are the potential consequences of an overlap in charges between these indictments and the ones in the DOJ’s J6 case?
I’m thinking mainly of the fake electors scheme but there may be other areas of overlap. Is there a chance that some form of double jeopardy defense would kick in, when one trial concludes before the other with either an acquittal or conviction? Or does that not apply with an overlap of Federal and State charges? I’m assuming the DOJ case will precede the GA one.

And I plan to dive into them in the days ahead. So far, I’m not particularly impressed with the application of the charges to the conduct. She doesn’t even identify what oaths they’re supposed to have been seeking to get Raffensperger and other officials to violate, much less how the asks would have violated them.

It was so good to hear what Hilary had to say last night when interviewed. Considering all she’s been through from the wingnuts on the right, I’m impressed by how grounded about everything she continues to be. She was practically prophetic way back when, and gets so little credit for her predictions. She remains a true public servant, of which there is so little of that on the right these days.
Republicans seem to get elected either to cash in on their position or to tear down government. So little of what they do while in office seems to benefit anyone but themselves. They are the party of self serving assholes imo. I have yet to see any of them that are anything more than a bunch of fucking hypocrites. The entire Republican party is now a criminal enterprise led by a totally amoral buffoon.
