I was reading in the past few days that FB has a new technology it calls Deep Entity Classification (DEP), which has helped it identify and ultimately take down 6.6 billion fake accounts. That’s a lot of fakes. The world population isn’t but a billion or so more than the number of phony accounts they had on board. So things happen, sure but there is no way on earth to know who might have done those fake Census things. No way at all. If there were only some way to know that, why, the DOJ would be on top of it, I’m sure. lol.

I’m not talking about the TPM usernet here, but do people out there not use basic addons like Adblock and Facebook Purity? because these GOP clowns and their surrogates will never bother you again or be able to target you either. The more people who embrace these options the better FB looks and it shuts the idiots out. The alternative is hideous.
I haven’t had ads since I joined FB in 2009. Facebook Purity/Adblock. Dunno about mobile, but no matter it gives you (some) sanity in all of this.

You’d think and hope people who get these would take a few minutes and read it before handing over their info. It says Commissioned by the Republican Party and goes on to talk about getting him and other Rs reelected. What part of that won’t people understand. Yes, I know the little old people who love to get mail and only want to do the right thing.
I have Adblock Plus and while some sites immediately ask, no, demand I whitelist before I go any further, I wouldn’t drop it ever.

You’d hope, but you would not believe the number of elderly people terrified of not filling in a government form. They don’t stop and think, they see Official, get frightened and do what it says.
And yes, I hate that, but have been working with elders for 40 years, and have seen it all along. As we age and are less able to affect the world around us we get more frightened of the world affecting us.
I also need to remind you of what my father ingrained in us as children what we would say the equivalent of “what part of that won’t they understand.” “Over 80% or more of the population is not as intelligent as you are, and you need to keep that in mind.”

To give credit where credit is due, Judd Legum of Popular Information broke the story yesterday. Facebook originally refused to take the ads down until other news organizations picked it up and Facebook got a lot of push back. This is not Facebook doing the right thing, they only react when enough people push back, otherwise they are only in it for the cash. This is also not the first time Judd has uncovered Facebook malfeasance, so I’m glad he’s playing the role he is.

I’ve gotten 2 of those “census” questionnaires in the mail, you don’t even have a need to answer much as many “questions” are written in such a way that any answer will play into REPUG plans. The 1st I filed 13, the second I sent pack in the prepaid envelope with the comment that I would never again for even a REPUG dogcatcher as even then they would be not be worth the dog shit I’d scrape off my boots.
