Excluding undocumented immigrants from that count would decrease the House seats given to immigrant-rich states like California, and increase the representation for whiter, more Republican parts of the country.
Well along came a pandemic, and Republican’s insistence on individualism, and pop goes the weasel the pandemic is raging in those “white, more Republican parts of the country”.
I guess their incompetency may save us.

Yeah, why not? These numbers determine representation for the next 10 years! It’s worth getting right. Joe Biden will have A LOT of things that will need to be re-done, after Madman Trump has ransacked and demolished the US federal government.

I would hope that members of Pres. Biden’s transition team have reached out to people in the Census Bureau to urge them to take the time necessary to get an accurate count. If the Reagan people (pre-election!) could approach Iran and urge that country to delay releasing the hostages, then Biden’s team can surely ask the data collectors to delay the census release. Fair’s fair.

This won’t be a problem once Trump gets the GOP legislatures in MI, WI, and AZ to overturn their election results. He can just approve the census when he gets back from his post inauguration vacation.

I’m sure that they are doing their job honestly, but I bet they are pissed off by the manipulations going on, and being forced to work so hard just to give Trump a chance at manipulating the data and keeping Republicans in power for the next decade. Anything that would allow them to push it back until Biden is in office is likely something they grabbed with both hands, and they will put out good numbers that Trump can’t get away with manipulating.
