nobody in Texas needs their air conditioner repaired in December
Depends on how expansive your definition of air conditioning is. Our furnace has a massive heat exchanger connected to it that can assist the furnace in cold weather and cool the house in the summer. When we upgraded last year (living in NW WA), it created a major drop in our natural gas bills and a slight increase in our electrical bills. I consider the trade off to be favorable because our primary source of electricity is renewables (hydro, solar, wind - slowly moving more towards solar and wind with battery farm assist).

Actually winter is a better time to get AC fixed if it needs it - you don’t need it while it isn’t working. And it’s cheaper if it isn’t an emergency OMYGOD my AC is out.

What the actual fuck? How many more crazy-ass stories like this are we going to have to suffer through? Thankfully no one got hurt. This time. 
ETA: not to answer my own question, but it occurs to me that we’re gonna be dealing with shit like this for years to come. These MAGA’s aren’t going anywhere and they’re going to be pissed that Mad King Donald was ‘robbed’ of his throne.
