That is one of those statements that sounds great on the surface but has no basis in anything we have seen in the burning hellscape that is our current “social media”. Joe Rogan is a symptom, not the disease.
I do appreciate you saying “even in this very liberal town I live in” - I think that provides a very strong clue to the differences in the way that you and I see things. Here in Mesa, AZ, we hide our liberals in the attic when someone comes knocking at the door.

Prediction: This is in preparation for deploying the military to quell domestic dissent, along with most assuredly use along the southern border in Mexico. No one to say no means “No” is not the response to whatever Trump commands.
Trump is said to be extremely angry and disappointed with the pace of immigrant arrests and deportations. He likely feels ICE, DHS and cooperating local and state police departments aren’t capable of achieving the numbers he wants or has promised. So, he’ll also have the military engaged in these operations. Asserting they’re necessary with a national security justification.

Habba is obliquely correct. Our lives will probably be governed and affected over the next four years to a far greater degree by Trump and his executive orders than by legislation passed in Congress.

I think that’s probably as close as you can come to making a staggeringly ignorant, total idiot with no self control into any kind of intelligence asset. As you say “Putin knows better” than to put any more adult expectations on him. But – considering his long-held kinda lust to be president that Moscow surely knew about for as long as any Americans did – the “flatter the fool” approach is sufficient for most any purpose…
As a former Zelensky diplomatic aide said on Times Radio a couple days ago, right now all that’s really going on with Putin is that Trump and Musk are, as is typical of Trump at least, “falling for the Russian love bombing” without knowing they’re just being love-bombed. They think it’s respect for their perspicacity and power.
