Lou Dobbs was booted from Fox Business on Friday when the right-wing news network cancelled his weekday TV show which had become a launching pad for a number of false election fraud theories perpetuated by former President Donald Trump and his allies in the wake of Trump’s electoral defeat in the 2020 presidential race.
At least we will have Jeanine Pirro and her castles.

Apart from the network’s statement it’s unclear whether the network’s concerns about Dobbs were sparked by the lawsuit or if the cancellation had been in the works some time before.

They are circling the wagons, sort of, while throwing the anchors under the bus, or, uh, wagons.
The mobs came for Dobbs and robbed him of his job(s).

Lately, since Biden was elected, it seems like a phrase from my childhood seems to pop up in my brain on a daily basis: “Good riddance to bad rubbish”.
Trump responded to the news of the cancellation in a statement Friday evening: “Lou Dobbs is and was great. Nobody loves America more than Lou. He had a large and loyal following that will be watching closely for his next move, and that following includes me.”
“And, by the powers invested in the Office of the Former President by the US Constitution, I hearby grant him a pardon for all of the fake charges and claims made against him.”
He still has a lucrative contract with Fox. Better he gets paid for doing nothing than for doing something.
I wonder about the severance package. I imagine it’s very generous, and includes a skillfully phrased mea culpa that absolves Fox.
His show was cancelled. I’m pretty sure the reports say he’s still on the payroll.
This was a very dumb move on Fox’s part. First of all, it kicks a key wrongdoer/witness outside the defense bubble. Dobbs is now a free agent who can (and undoubtedly will) spew all kinds of further nonsense that will get the defense in still further trouble with the Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits. If you’re Fox, you want Lou Dobbs firmly ensconced in the Fox News Witness Protection Program. The time to cut him loose is after the lawsuits are over, not before you have even answered them.
Second, Fox is supposedly bleeding ratings to OAN and Newsmax. Why are you freeing up one of your remaining attractions free to move over to the competition (where he’s a better fit anyway)?

Seriously, they just kind of yanked the rug from under his feet and canceled his culture, no goodbye, no kiss my ass, no good luck, no nothing.
Trump’s already given up on the former POTUS tag. It sounded too much like a concession. He’s now “the 45th POTUS”. I ain’t no has been!
