In April, the FCC sent a a blistering letter to Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger saying it suspected the company was so thoroughly “infected” with “invidious” practices favoring minorities that it had no choice but to open an investigation.
Among other questions, the inquiry sought to determine whether Disney had really ended policies designed to ensure characters in its shows and its hiring practices favored “underrepresented groups.”
All this and more after paying the bogus $15 million bribe.

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” ABC said in a statement Monday. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

The new pledge asks journalists to acknowledge in writing that acquiring or using unauthorized information would be grounds for “immediate suspension” of Pentagon access. It defined off-limits information to include both classified materials and “controlled unclassified information,” a broadly defined category that includes materials that could pose a risk to national security if released to the public.
Be wary of any journalist who signs this just to maintain access.

Conservative commentator Sarah Longwell sharply reacted to the news, calling the lack of accountability “insane” and saying the scandal is emblematic of broader corruption in the Trump orbit.
“If this were just some unnamed member of the Trump administration, people would probably be like, yep, they’re all corrupt. But in this case, this guy is… like one of the biggest villains in the Trump administration.”

The Federal Trade Commission also launched an inquiry into whether Disney broke rules by gathering personal data from children watching its videos without permission from parents. Disney settled the case this month by paying $10 million and agreeing to change its practices.

Same playbook as with Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden et al. Trump wants open-ended investigations of his opponents, despite lack of evidence of wrongdoing, for political advantage. Duh.

That was the maid’s job. Total asshole.
