Dennehy wasn’t in Gladiator?
Hey, I’m not a sophisticated professor or erudite librarian, just an ordinary old woman who sets up the “press the flesh” events in local communities and has a lot of experience “standing in the back of the room” and watching candidates interact with voters.
My thoughts were about not having time for the hind sighting that is so beloved by posters here, and needing to move on to the General, which the candidates I expressed approval of had done. Seemed like El Sayed would want the attempts at uniting behind him that his former opponents were signaling, but what do I know, just an old woman who’s been around a bunch of campaigns.
This “Gladiator” is a 1992 American sports drama film directed by Rowdy Herrington, and starring Cuba Gooding Jr., James Marshall, Brian Dennehy and Robert Loggia.

Yeah, Brian Dennehy was in many movies.
In many pictures from many of his movies, there’s a bit of a visual similarity of appearance between Rogers & Dennehy ( not always exact - but a valid resemblance) … kinda like the similarities between Chris Farley & Rob Ford (SNL skits harnessed this!)
Mike Rogers seems to be attracted to photographers cameras & microphones like moths to a light… and often ends up looking like the overbearing in-your-face obtuse oaf that he is. The still from “Tommy Boy” visually captures the pictorial aspect of this (however, the character that Dennehy portrayed was not evil - & was a far more decent and noble person that this schmuck Rogers)
The despicable quality of Rogers & the visual similarities - are quite strong in the Gladiator movie - but good stills from that movie are not as easy to find & the gruesome video clips - too long for here.
The Dennehy character in Gladiator overtly displays the mendacity and maliciousness that Rogers carries in real life - everywhere he goes.
To be fair, then next generation are also grayhairs by now. Gary Peters was born in 1958, so… the next generation is GenX, who are starting into their 60s now.

I think that long primaries are good for the party, especially when the other side has a short, non-competitive primary. That means the airwaves and the conversation have only been around Democrats.
Requisite to this theory is this level of uniting after.
This is the best case.
