So what they want is to simply count each Democratic vote as being worth 3/5th of a Republican vote - now I wonder where there got such an idea?

Instead of actually counting the real votes that came in, regardless of how long it took, just impose some arbitrary cutoff time, like when the polls close, and any uncounted votes will be “guesstimated”. Sure, that could work, particularly if you ban any counting of absentee ballots until election day … or unti after the polls close. Brilliant.
Whenever I read something like this and realize how close we came to losing the election and our democracy, I always look back and remember the Saturday afternoon after Election Day when Pennsylvania was finally called for Biden.

I don’t get that law, that the voter has to still be alive when election rolls around if they voted early.

I could, maybe, imagine a new version of voter suppression by the GOP if they pass a law in the states where the voter must still be living when the legislature chooses the electors. Any bets on how high the homicide rates would be from Nov to Dec?

And before anybody raises the obligatory Crystal Mason, I’m aware and it’s reasonably clear that the CCA is going to reverse that conviction.
I’d have to Google to cite specifics, but I recall reading about results for various offices nationwide, in the wake of Trump screaming “Fraud!” about his loss. In many cases losers were on the short end of 80% to 20% results in their local race, and started lobbing allegations of shenanigans. 80-20 lopsided losses. Sheesh.
