Ducey Wears Nikes Despite Threat | Talking Points Memo

Oh, say can you see … the irony?

A mere three days after his Twitter tirade against Nike for recalling its Betsy Ross flag-themed shoes, GOP Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey was seen sporting the iconic swoosh at a Fourth of July barbecue.

said that they harken back to an era of slavery.

I am not so sure that this is correct… what I have seen in several places is that Kaepernick’s opposition to the flag was that it has been co-opted by white nationalist groups… which makes more sense to me than the explanation about hearkening back to slave days.

They don’t call Doug “Douchey” for nothin’.

By threatening potential jobs. Always the best “free market” solution.

@jmacaz You are correct.

This is what I’ve seen also. But if past protests are any indication, it’s a good bet that Kap’s actual stance will be misrepresented fairly consistently.

Go ahead and commit economic seppuku, better states will pick up the slack

Where’s the photo of Ducey wearing his Nike shoes?
Is the Gov related to Steve Doocy of the “Fox and Idiots on the Curvey Couch?”

How do you like this one? Economic anxiety? hahahaha! Effing racists.

That is why I guess someone on his staff talked him into wearing Nike shoes. They explained in simple 4th grader terms the economic cost to the state. I am not a fan of all the state giveaways to corporations, however, once you have done so it is absolutely stupid to claw them back.

Seems like there are a lot of Ducey right wingers out there (Or, Doocey)

AZ citizen here commenting on Ducey:

A total rightwing mediocrity with delusions of Trumpian Grandiosity. He lacks the intelligence, charisma, and articulation of his idol. (if you can imagine that) Yet he bastes himself in the rugged conservatism of Goldwater and McCain without exhibiting a smidgen of any of their accomplishments. He’s a huckster ice-cream-franchise (Cold Stone Reamery) CEO turned into State Treasurer turned into Gov. by rightwing power-mongers who wanted a malleable stooge.

Republicans swear by Milton Friedman and Corporate and Oligarchy rule!

Under their U Chicago right wing god Friedman, Nike should be allowed to do whatever it wishes…including slave child labor, polluting the environment, price fixing, and yes…product decisions!

Republicans, like with the Bible and everything else, carefully selects what supports their rich white rulers ideology. They have no regard for facts, honesty, and Democracy!

Friedman = fascist and corporate rule

Democrats = Keynes and Democratic rule for the greater good and not for a concentrated rich inheritance class.

Not fer’ nuthin:

“…misrepresented fairly…”

hmmm

:moneybag:

Sneakers are not “patriotic”. They’re sneakers.

Colin Kaepernick’s constant input would hold more weight if he’d someday register to vote, which he claims he’s never done. When I heard that I tuned him out. He’s just fodder for those determined to stay at the circus, accomplishing nothing.

Alright, Take 2:

It’s a good bet that Kap’s actual stance will be misrepresented on a consistent basis.

That’s a fairly good restatement, amirite?

… and two days ago Nike communicated with the governor’s office that it had identified an alternative location than Goodyear Arizona for the new factory, in Democratic Nevada

Hey Doug, what was that about being pissed that Democrats wore flag designs in clothing?
Fucking hypocrite. I am again embarrassed that he is the governor of the state wherein I reside.
