He just becomes more and more unhinged everyday.

Donald Trump seems to be defending himself by lying and gas lighting. Instead of defending his actions, he is lying about what he did. If this was really a witch hunt, if people were really out to get him for something that he didn’t do, or if what he did was really not a crime, then he would have no need to gaslight and lie.
If his defense in court is that he had the right to do something, that should be his defense in public. Lying to the public, saying he didn’t do what he did do is a great way of losing the faith of the public.
We don’t like to be lied to. We know he’s doing it. It’s going to hurt him, both in court, and in the court of public opinion. He should stop.
If he did nothing wrong, he has nothing to hide, so why is he hiding?

It’s untethered from reality – and the more untethered it gets, the more unhinged it gets.

At some level, Trump appears to feel as if he must continually become more extreme to keep drawing attention to himself, as people become inured to his B.S. Being a sociopath, he doesn’t care a bit how much violence he spawns, as long as he isn’t the target. At this point, the sooner he goes to jail (or an insane asylum) the better for all concerned.
