Dominion Lawyers Send Scathing Letter To Ex-Trump Lawyer Demanding She Retract ‘Lies’ | Talking Points Memo

It’s a double-triple head-fake. Powell isn’t going to know what hit her.

My brother works for a different election systems company. Needless to say, he is pretty pissed off about being defamed by this crew of mouth breathing shit sacks.

They could change their name. It would be enough to outsmart the Trumpian fanatics. Dominion is a rather odd name for them anyhow. Maybe iVote or Vote-a-tronic.

He definitely should not insert some code into the machines to prevent Republicans from being elected.

One of these is elegant, graceful, powerful and capable.
The other one is Sydney Powell.
(though beats me what that blob of apparently human tissue in the upper right corner is)

Did Nessie pick up the tab this time, or did Ms. Huckabee Sanders insist on charging it to the Trump campaign?

Then everyone that Trump has defamed better get their lawyers hired, papers filed because that money is going to go poof very quickly. There are five offspring, one current wife, and taxmen from two different jurisdictions that have an interest in where the money is.

Trump better heed this S. Miller’s advise:
Hoo-hoo-hoo, go on, take the money and run
Go on, take the money and run
Hoo-hoo-hoo, go on, take the money and run
Go on, take the money and run

So how many if these defamatory utterances occurred when Powell was an agent of Trump? Is this a matter for discovery?

So could any victim of defamation. But since defamation is an injury against the plaintiff’s reputation, that reputational harm is still going to be compensable. Even if you start over with a new name, the injury to the old reputation is still going to be there.

“She’s gonna defend herself”

Her client is a fool.

She’s a fool even when she doesn’t have herself for a client, so if she did you can imagine.

I would hope that some complaints to all appropriate state licensing and disciplinary boards would have some lasting impact, too - for Powell, Giuliani, Ellis, and the rest.

It would at least keep them busy for awhile and cost them some big fees (unless, again, they represent themselves or - just as comically - each other).

I was also wondering if this was just a prelude to a tort case, since this seems like a case where civil damages are possible.

Also, could they potentially include others who may have more resources, such as Giuliani or even Trump himself? Sydney Powell is clearly the most egregious offender, but hardly the only one who was slandering the company.

I think that Giuliani put himself at risk with some things he has said, but my impression is that he has been less focused on Dominion. Powell and certifiably insane person Lin Wood have been out front with the Dominion horseshit.

Trump always had advantages that his lawyer minions did not:

(1) The Presidency
(2) Bill Barr
(3) Moscow McConnell
(4) POTUS protection–enhanced by (2) and (3)
(5) Grifting capability to cover legal fees
(5) Deity status by his voters…to the point of committing violent acts

Yes, and they are no match for the firm’s lawyers, who have dealt with defamation cases more than a few times.

Calling for a full retraction might be the first step in a future defamation suit. ‘We gave you the chance…’

I expect the footprint of the Trump Presidential Library to be in the form of his signature, so it will be visible and identifiable from space.
