The Justice Department has taken issue with Maine’s policy of requiring that out-of-state travelers self-quarantine for two weeks upon arrival in the state.

What’s really behind this? Because Hawaii has been doing it for months now.
And Barr and the rest of the GOP should know about Hawaii, it’s where Obama was born.

What’s really behind this? We have a Democratic female governor that is intelligent, level headed and makes wise decisions. She replaced Paul Lepage who touts himself as Trump before Trump was cool.

We’ve had this in Alaska for months too. But we have a teabagger governor so the DOJ is looking the other way apparently.

“It is unclear why the Governor requires every out-of-state resident to self-quarantine for 14 days before patronizing plaintiffs’ campgrounds,” the Justice Department said. “Had Maine imposed such a burden only on residents from COVID-19 hot spots, such as New York City, this might be a different case.

DT limited his travel ban to hot spots early on, and then the US quickly became number one in confirmed cases.

So if banning travelers from China saved us the millions of lives that Trump says, why is not Maine allowed to do the same, and banned travelers from well known hotspots like NY and MA?

But Maine requires travelers from every corner of the Union to quarantine themselves upon arrival, even if they hail from jurisdictions (such as nearby Vermont) that have fewer confirmed cases of COVID-19—either as an absolute matter or per capita—than Maine does.”

How does Barr Barr Jinx know that VT has fewer confirmed cases aside from what he can glean from the VT and ME health dept. websites? Have they tested everyone in ME and VT? Has he tested everyone in ME and VT? That’s the thing, ME would be taking a undefined risk since Barr Barr cannot specify the full extent of harm which might ensue.

If NM daughter comes to visit us in Tucson, when she goes back to Santa Fe, she has to self quarantine for 14 days.

The Justice Department suggested that Maine’s current policy violates a clause in the U.S. Constitution that guarantees that “Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.”

Yes, but we still don’t know if people infected by the virus are subsequently immune to it; so how can others be entitled to their immunities if we don’t know they exist? Answer me that!

Susy Collins just announced a self-imposed quarantine to give herself time to ascertain her actual level of concern.

And look at our success at all but eliminating COVID-19 transmission from the state–and the high economic price we are paying for it. Yes, we’ve had a handful of RWNJs–the usual suspects–protesting all the mandates. But people here by and large “get it”.

If this is about going after Blue states, well, there is no Bluer state.

Edit to add: The islands are our castles. The Pacific Ocean is our moat. Jet bridges serve nicely as drawbridges.

The GOP wants a higher body count - 100,000 just isn’t enough.

Hilarious. The entire brief is caged as the same old same old geographic-oriented cultural resentment propaganda Faux News and the GOP are always peddling.

what maine has done with this virus has worked so far.
people are paying attention and acting accordingly to protect themselves and others.
The leadership has handled this perfectly so far.
of course there are those “radicals”, “gop” that complain if it rains or if the sun comes out.
We don’t need the potential to increase the virus numbers around here. If you don’t want to do the 14 days to protect yourself and us.
Go somewhere else.

Barr Barr Jinx. Love it! Did you make that up?

Good name for a repellent goofball.
